Your gonna tab at the guy running towards you to see if its a monk running into a better position or a warrior coming to smash you? Too slow. By the time youve tabbed, and decided that its a warrior or a sin, hes started his attack chain and ur getting smashed. Or if he looks like a warrior, you can pre kite and prepare for his assault faster. Also makes hitting important skills harder. For instance a ranger runs up and uses mend touch, you see a monk symbol above his head. You turn to him to d-shot him, but its only mend touch, not their teams RC or guardian.Because you couldnt see that its a ranger you wasted your d-shot.
No thanx, making everyone identical will screw up play in any arena.

I have an idea; they could allow the costumes to show Client-side-only in PvP areas.
Meaning, only the person wearing the costume can see the costume.

There is ONLY one kind of PvP area in which I would allow costumes.
Dragon Arena.
Why? Because profesion doesn't matter in there. Everyone is the same.
Anywhere else, either profession matters (Snowball arena, all normal PvP areas) or the model is already altered (Costume Brawling, Rollerbeetle racing)
So, for the Dragon Arena, YES.
For the rest of festival events where the model is no changed, ONLY THE HAT.
And for the rest of PvP, NO COSTUME PART AT ALL.

i sort of agree with this no excuse that costume make it confusing unless you pay attention at armor more then the bar that tells you if their a war or w/e profession their playing i myself wouldn't mind having costumes in arenas but it's all down if Anet wants costumes be seen in pvp so i cant really choose sides saying no or yes for costumes

Well, another problem with this is that capes can't be displayed alongside costumes, and capes are used to easily display which team you're on.
With my other idea though, it doesn't matter if you see your own cape; you know which team you're on.

People see more at the radar than at the cape.

Savaging glyph lesser on an ele=no big deal. Savaging glyph lesser on a mesmer=important (sometimes). If you can't see their armor, and you are targeting something else, how do you know if it's important to hit if you only see the glyph animation over their head at the start of the cast?
Just because you are bad, it doesn't mean everyone else is.

A team has a war and a sin and mesmer. If I can tell the difference between them I can gaurdian the target the war is running at and draw the cripple from the sin lead attack while clicked on the mesmer watching for diversion.

You know, there are players like me who like to LOOK at the player and tell what's going on on the match instead of TAB TAB TAB like YOU (assumingly coming from your idea)
