With the War in Kryta event going on, it'd be kinda nice to see a War in Cantha/Elona events as well. Maybe see some more of the luxons go at it with the kurzicks in a storyline format as the truce broke down when shiro died. Maybe see some quests with a younger version of the emperor's successor. Also see Polo Joker starting the process of rebuilding his army and maybe having a few events where we try to keep him contained.

Although it seems more likely future content will involve Ascalon.

Cantha and Elona won't be visited in GW2, at least in the first campaign/epsiode with any significant depth. I don't really see a need to add content that shows the events happening in Cantha and Elona in the time between GW and GW2, unless future GW2 expansions come out focused on those areas, and a bridge would have some meaning.

Yeah unfortunately, I see them marketing purely to build anticipation for GW2. So that means they will focus on the tyrian continent. Even if GW2 expansions in cantha/elona are planned, they are at least another year or two off after release, and now is not the time to hype them up.

It's a bonus though that prophecies is huge and has plenty of dead, pointless zones that can be appropriated for new content.

I think WiK was sorely necessary b/c the Proph campaigns was seriously showing it's age and there needs to be more motivation to play it. The other campaigns don't suffer from that problem.

Also, I really don't need to see Palawa Joko's rise just yet. I'd rather have my character die before he realizes the massive Charlie Foxtrot he's responsible for.

Why, you ask...

Because we are probably going to get something anyway. WiK isnt just an isolated thing, but a part of something Anet is rolling out called Guild Wars Beyond. They are doing a group of tie-over stuff to prep us for the release of the GW novels and eventually GW2. the WiK explains the overthrow of the Mantle/restoration of the royal line in Kryta, and there will be other stuff too.

Just be patient

Guild Wars Beyond is supposed to tie up lose ends and wrap up some of the stories of GW1 so players see how the world began to change on its way to how it is in GW2. The closing off of Cantha and Elona are pretty big questions and those places hold a lot of meaning for players.

In GW2 Cantha is closed off to outsiders by Kisu's successor and the Kurzicks and Luxons are assimilated back into the empire while the other races in Cantha (the Tengu) are kicked out. That alone is plenty of content GWB could explore. They don't need to show it fully resolve, but they can certainly show signs of it starting and involve players in the events.

In Elona we already set Palawa Jokko free. In GW2 he rules Elona, so his rise to power again is another area GWB could explore.

Just because we no longer play in these lands at the release of GW2 doesn't mean there is no reason to tell the story for them in GW. Personally, I think those lands being sealed off in GW2 makes telling the reasons why more important.
