Please fix these Henchmen / Hero AI
ever since the WiK additions to the game I have noticed an increase in Hero and Henchmen "mistakes" and glitches either facing the new enemies or in the new areas.
Problems include things like:
- Pathfinding issues
Example: During the Bounty to kill Justiciar Sevaan, nearing the Shaemore gate, heroes will run into the town when standing on the hill southwest of the gate entrance if they are not flagged, running away when your party is in combat.
- Heroes and/or Henchmen not attacking targets, ignoring targets
Example: (see Jade Cloak in Riverside Assassination)
- Lack of kiting or moving away from AoE when facing new foes (although they did this before....they seem to never kite or leave AoE now. Especially when facing the Renewal Meteor Shower eles.)
- Running almost to a full radar range in order to ressurect a party member, or use a single spell/skill on an enemy that ran away, through multiple mobs along the way.
Some are old issues, but also seem far more evident than usual, and some I have never seen Heroes or Henchmen do, that they seem to do only recently.

I want heroes that don't stand in Meteor Shower and other AoE lol. And Heroes that don't run 2 1/2 aggro bubbles away from where you flag them, and then aggro everything on the map in the process.

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF ALESIA GOING ALL THE WAY IN FRONT AND TANKING EVERYTHING AS IF SHE WAS A PRE-NERF PEMRA ASSASSIN.
Serious, the lack of infusion is workable, but the AI is so brain dead stupid I want the ability to attack them with my own skills.

Well , if you played Hero Battles , you would have seen aswell AL getting worse and worse after each update ( updates , which were supposed to make them better ) .
Anyway , yes Hero Al is extremly bad and make things very hard , or even impossible ( i.e some dungeons with summit stone dwarves HM ) . Most of time you cant just try to avoid groups , going through them , it wil lresult in all map aggroed because they move for no reason.
Also , like someone said , lack of kiting and standing in AoE , even by flagging , is very annoying , and lead most of time , for WiK HM bounties ( like inquisitor Bauer for example ) , in all party dead in 10 sec . The problem is that , due to such a bad Al , it's impossible to do pve HM if you dont have meta/wiki bars .

What do you mean by AL?
Is this something new or have I missed anything?
If you against all odds mean AI it stands for Artificial Intelligence and has nothing to do with AL.
Sorry for being an ass...

I remember, after completing proph Alesia saying: "maybe I should have trained as a warrior, so you would have taken me with you sometimes". Yes, she acts like a warrior and also a troublesome one. AI is getting completely dumb, more than ever.
/signed but I doubt in some result

At the very least, they could be lvl 20 with elite skills.

GW is a cooperative RPG. So, group with some guild friends and don't take henchies if you don't like them.

Firstly everyone saying 'group up!111' it's a hassle and waste of tiem trying to find someone competent to play with.
On topic, they seriously just need to be made lvl 20 if you have the WiK requirements. They're still pretty useless though, I struggled majorly yesterday with the assasination quest using 4 henchmen when I have no problems with 2 henchmen and one Ebon Falcon...
Hell they could just fill your party up with ebon falcons, say one for each free party slot.

Never had a problem with hero or hench AI. Wouldn't mind updates to them, unless they did something to make it seriously bad. And when I use Alesia, she doesn't tank (or try and fail), but that may be because I don't use melee and she doesn't run in to Touch them. Anet staff if well aware of the hench AI issues, they even made great fun of it at the end of Prophecies with the dialog between the hench. Love how Reyna comments on using her Rez to bring up Alesia who dies right away again.

I feel much better now that other people brought it up, I was in the Zaishen Menagerie and flagged Master of Whispers back so I could run and charm a raven, come to find out, he just kept on following me, not moving at all where I flagged him, Jora did not attack anyone at all in Blood Washes Blood, switching her from guard to attack did absolutely nothing, tried flagging her back, she just followed me and got mind blasted.
Personally, I'm noticing more errors and glitches outside the WiK areas, but it seems that's when things got a bit funky.

yeah hero and henchies are still not as good as they could or should be. Anet messed with the enemy AI in HM to run out of AoE and the increased movement speed. doing what should of been a simple HM mission the other night, Ruins of Surmia, with my assassin. not only did the caster heros in my party not run out of the AoE, they ran right into the melee range with me if i forgot to flag them back. i always call my target to be sure they attack, but being equiped with staffs they shouldnt have followed me into melee range if they were properly programmed. once within attack range with the staff, they should of held position there. its bad enough the enemy AI mobs are unbalanced in their makeup, but if you dont carry a speed boost or run cons of some sort, you can run them down when they start to scatter. using the surmia mission as an example, you usually fight groups of 3. 3 rangers with ignite arrows attacking the party. the hero/hench AI just stands there, but if you were to use the same skill on the enemy AI, they would scatter. same thing with the ele's. getting hit with 3 meteor showers, the hero/hench AI just stands there unless your quick with the flagging, yet enemy AI will scatter as soon as they get off their butts after getting hit with the first one. i can go on about more issues but have let my feelings known about HM, AI(enemy or hero/hench) in other posts.
