He probably doesn't want to. I know I haven't so far when going for my title, nor will I for the remainder of my title, should I decide to finish it, he could be worried about being banned also, I have heard of some saying they were banned for using the "correct" Texmod, the one that ANet does allow. I am not sure how true that is, because people say all sorts of stuff. But anyway, could be many reasons why he doesn't want to use it.

I wouldn't use third party programs to rely on improving my game experience.

Uhm wasn't texmod designed for lazy people to start with?
Having a notice that tells you the area is fully explored was my first thought back when I began cartography. Now I wouldn't like it for myself because I had fun with finding missing spots with my own eyes. But as almost everyone now uses texmod, which can be harmful, and many people would find find it useful...if it's technically doable I /sign

Its also technically not do-able as theres no real bounds for what you can explore within an area.
The space behind eradon Terrace is evidence that the areas have no clearly defined lines of where you can explore. As is anywhere you can get to by portal jumping.

Agree with this, the "exploration bar" isn't doable because the game doesn't know when an "explorable area" finishes (unless you pass through the portal). Actually, there are also a lot of places where you can explore a bit of an area, while staying into an adjacent area, expecially in prophecies and factions, where there aren't those "fog stripes" between areas.
However, i would like it if the game had some in-game (no third-party for reasons already stated) feature to give more sense to this title. Damn, exploring means going around watching new places, not walking facing a wall all the time (which is what you do even with texmod). Even if it's true that texmod makes the title way easier to get, it's always something which hasn't anything related with exploring and seeing new places. However, i'm sure this topic has already been discussed somewhere else.

Very good idea, I did it with texmod. But would have been so much better if you get an ingame notification that you got 100% of the area.

Yeah I don't see why it would be so hard to implement...The game knows when you have 100% of a continent...and they know the % each area can contribute to that title....so why not? Granted I already got my titles via textmod...but know plenty who won't use it and feel for them mapping w/o it.

I dont agree with any of it. Dont use texmod and no extra help to map please.
I have never used it and it was fine for me. just do a Vanquish and Hug the walls when you are done !.

its a whole bunch of
if map = 100% explored;
then println.[cant remember] ("Map has been 100%explored");
sorry for the java-ish syntax since I haven't use C++ yet

The issue again is how vaugly defined an area is.
Edit: forgot to mention fixed it for you

1) if they knew when you reached 100% why is there still areas left to uncover after you reach 100%...because thats not really how it works...how it does exactly I can't tell but meh...
2) they don't know the % each area can contribute...again because of how loosely defined the lines between areas are and how good people can scrape.

TexMod is far from perfect and it doesn't notify you when an area is completely explored.
For me TM messes with my graphics and I have to shut down GW after a few zones.
I think it's a reasonable suggestion and I don't believe it should be that hard to implement.
They could even make it new content by having an NPC who tells you which areas are not explored and dispenses clues if it has a trick (like areas in prophecies) to clearing it out.
That's asking a lot, but keeping this game fun and playable until GW2 is important.

-Anyway...Eh...I did my 100% in Proh and Fac w/o textmod and it wasn't hard at all..
