The best and most fun random pvp format.
Which is why instead we got awesome hero battles and codex.

Well they obviously mentionned costume brawl in last interview .. seems to be that we will be able to play as WiK heroes. Would be fun to play as the asuran ( was it Gadd ) on ele or necromancer...

Costume brawl is a pretty terrible form of PvP. The only reason people like it so much is that it isn't around long enough for the problems with the format to become really glaring.

I've always enjoyed Costume Brawl. I wouldn't say make it a permanent arena but, at least extend it to 2 weeks and maybe another 2 weeks 6 months after Halloween again? :P

The only reason people like it is because you don't have to wait hours there to form a team which will disband after 15mn , compared to HA especially or GvG.

Costume brawl is the worst possible form of pvp. I'd suggest developers to stay more focused on fixing the current formats than caring about costume brawl which is seriously only for 3-5 y/o kids

That is a freaking huge deal, considering the popularity of RA, JQ/FA in spite of being horrible. The point is this is a random format done right.

I second the petition for you to explain this.

Maybe they wouldn't implement this, but considering the skills are primary attribute only, I really wished they made team-based arena games like this using only your character's skill set.

These maps/game type are perfect for that. Why not make use of that space which used to be team arena and make this happen?

It's the most balanced. That's why it's the best. And the GW1 base cares more about random team formats because of convience. Turn the elitism down a notch.

I find the end of this comment humorous.

Anyways, as to the length of CB: I think one of the things which makes CB so great is that it is a festival event. If CB, Snowball, DA, and Rollerbeetle were year-round events, would they really remain so superb? I don't think so.

That said, I would love to see the entire Halloween festivities last longer, and if just CB lasted, say, a week past Halloween... I wouldn't complain.

I think a better suggestion would be to rather have Halloween festivities start the Friday before before Halloween itself (or two Fridays before - it's done so that the closest to a full week is available, so how long the event lasts varies year from year), to have Halloween be the entire second half of October - 2 full weeks. And more than CB, of course.

As to having it in other festivals - I disagree. At least, not as a Costume Brawl, but if it were a "Sealed Build" arena (which imo, Codex should of been), then I'd agree. Remove the costume part of it then I wouldn't mind it returning in other events. But the costume part of Costume Brawl deserves to stay with Halloween.

It's alright for a bit of fun (which is what this is) but it doesn't lend itself to a competitive setting.
Also, the simple "who can kill the fastest" idea with no solid defense (only some disruption and debilitation) leads to a certain dullness that isn't too apparant if the format is only briefly available.

Agree , but i think the point is to make PvP " revive " due to the fact that almost all arenas are completly empty except RA , due to the simple fact that you just press and get team and opponent . I don't believe CB will be that popular by staying forever , but they could do like the following :
- Add event arenas and those will last until next event ( for example , costume brawl would stay until winter , then snowball , etc.. )
