Three votes? What do you think this, American Idol? Actually i'm going against the grain and saying the characters should be able to run even faster! So i'm voting 1,000,000,000 against option to walk!

mainly because theres times, like when you are in a group, and you dont know if everyone is on the same speed/type net.
walking, everyone in the party, walking, would mean that its harder for one memeber to fudge up the mission by accidentaly going to far and agroing the critters round the bend, because they laged and their miss-click overshot....
plus, it would be nice to take a lesurely stroll thru lions arch Int one, and then pause, to look at the nerk sat in the Frog....*shakes head* i have no idea why these people choose to SIT IN THE FROG...i mean, you would get prety upset if someone sat in you, right?

Why does everybody sign? A walking/running toogle is definitely needed.
First, you can move normal in town. Secondly, you can walk up with NPC. Thirdly, you can sort of ambush. How experienced you are, you can never ambush, but are ambushed all the time. Devourers, scarabs, spiders, they appear suddenly and bring a fight to you as a suprise (in some area's this is a grind, even if you overlevel things). Walking would not change this, but you can trigger it in a more subtile way. 'What's over there?' - 'Nothing' - 'There is, you can't see it, it's hidden' - 'Okay. let's run into it and get killed'.
Would be cool if walking gives you a smaller aggro-circle; probably means completely redesign of the game. Now /sign.

Yes plz for walking. this idea about smaller aggro circle is also very cool. closest thing to a stealth skill i suppose.
also, everyone jumping from still to flat out run looks retarded. sure people will still do it, but at least not everyone *has* to do that.
plus most of the right animations for it are already in.

Yeah. Walking would be very nice. Sure, it's useless, but a lot of things in this game are useless/pointless.
Currently, you can only walk by strafing at the edges of terrain, using ice or by using hexes. Silly! :/

Couldn't be hard for the devs to look at, why not.
Doesn't matter that it's 'trivial' it would still be a good addition for 'trivial' reasons.

There are actually different animations for walking and running. Like when a hammer warrior is walking she will carry the hammer on her shoulder.

Sometimes I just want to do some sight seeing. Sometimes I'm just being cautious, like when wandering through the "Falls" waiting for spiders to drop.

Ummm ... what does wanting to run faster have anything to do with implementing a "walk" command?? No one is saying we just want to walk, we're saying we want to be ABLE to walk.
Yes I know this is an old thread, but a "walk" function has yet to be implemeted (AFAIK) and there are times when I really just want to walk. All the constant running around makes my head spin sometimes.

Walking
This has got to be one of the weirdest things Ive mentioned so far about Guild Wars, but am I the only person who would like them to put in the ability to walk instead of run everywhere?
I know of a few people who play GW who have asked about this, but tell me, do any of you feel the same way?

Yes, I too would like to be able to walk. I also find that anyone making a movie would appreciate it too. (No I am not but just a reason)
