Obsidian Gauntlets
How about another use for obby shards besides fow armor?
If you make them jet-black with high shine (something with a mimic to a wingcrest maul dyed black) would look pretty nice in my opinion, and should match the general player-base of black dyed armor.

Or anet can hold a weapon contest like last time except this time introduce a new weapons crafter and use the weapons that won for the crafter and we can use shards for that

i love the idea, but if they weren't gonna make us armor for the War In Kryta stuff, I doubt we will see anything like this.
/signed for your thought though.

As I have stated in previous threads, I am all for Anet making more armor/weapons but if they do so, I really think that it should be a more common or easier to get armor/weapon. We dont need more high end "stuff" for people to show off epeen with. If it costed like 10ish obby shards + 20ish of another rare material and 50ish of a common material, then i would be for it but we dont need it to cost 75 or 80. Chaos gloves already exist for the epeen purpose, so if they were to implement another shard-costing armor, it should be within reach of casual PvEers.

Chaos Gloves are within the reach of casual PvEers.
But any new armor/weapon would be good for the game, so /sign. It'd be nice to have more FoW/UW ones too.

Except the "not within reach for casual players" part. I highly disagree with that. I know plenty of "casual players" and they managed to purchase Chaos Gloves just fine.

/signed. I was delighted to see a suggestion that was actually good!
If they implemented this, there would be no way to please everyone regarding whatever price they command. IMHO, if the cost was on a par (or close) to the price of Destroyer Gauntlets, it wouldn't be unreasonable. If they were priced up there with Chaos Gloves, they probably wouldn't be worth it.

So... For you, if they were "expensive", they wouldn't be worth it? But if they were cheap, they would be worth it? Sounds like a poor-man's way of thinking... :\

I guess that depends on your definition of a "casual player". 75 ectos is really tough to get if you dont speed clear or farm for the ectos.

A rather good suggestion, although i really like the obsidian weapons idea too.
Also, you guys seem to be missing the point of prestige armour/weapons, you're supposed to have to spend that little bit extra time playing to be able to afford it...thats why they're classed as they are. 'Prestige'. I
f the designs were well done (contests as suggested ism to me a great idea) then id be all for paying that bit extra.

You have a warped sense of "casual".
@Tobi: casual players do not have the time to waste that they'd want to farm 30 hours (and that's a very conservative estimate) for JUST a pair of shiny gloves.

Oh no, I understand. Im saying that they should be added but not as a "prestige" armor (in the sense of costing a rediculous amount of money).

Fixed that for ya. The higher the price of these cosmetic items, the lower the probability of a player deciding that "Yes, they are worth it." (Even when considering the "e-peen factor.")
