So let me get this straight...you want Anet to implement a weapon for a class that needs to invest in a secondary to fully use? You do realize that bringing poison on a warrior is useless in a non 4-by-4 situation? (IE PvE, GvG, HA).
Sorry, but I'd much rather have a re-skin of a weapon that is actually functional for my character, the glacial blade was insult enough.

Ice damage is VERY useful against fire titans, fire elementals and destroyers.
And you'll be enchanted most of the time by a monk while fighting them.
Also ,when fighting warriors, you'll usually change to an elemental mod, since they may have less armor against elements if they don' bring an insignia for that.
The glacial blade is maybe too limited, but it's useful, and for free.
Note that a sword can NOT deal dark, holy or chaos damage.
That's for staves ONLY.
I don't know if that if they can make one that can, but that would be too unbalanced.
You are supposed to use dervish or monks to get the damage changed to holy.
That's why it goes around armor bonuses that specify physical or elemental.
And the only sword that does not deal elemental of slashing damage is the Jitte, which is blunt, that's also physical.

What if I wanted to put it on my Necro as a caster weapon? Warrior isnt the only class in the game that could use it. And its not like you cant already replicate the stats. Nothing game changing, pure cosmetic value.
Now that I'm thinking about it, they could make a fully modable "Dragon Sword" that does slashing damage like any other sword. And, the flame could change color depending on the dye. It couldnt possibly be that difficult to make. I think that would be ideal. That way in PvP they dont know what mod you have by the color
Lore wise a FDS is one of the most powerful swords in existance. So it makes sense for this sword to get special treatment.

Cruel, Barbed, Sundering, Furious, Crippling - Maybe these shouldn't be converted into Dragon Swords just because of how awkward it would be to turn it into a flame.
Poisonous, Shocking, Ebon, and Zealous might make sense.

Ebon wouldn't. My issue is this: what exactly is 'earth damage' supposed to mean? Fire damage is where intense heat and flames are applied to the target (thus burning them). Lightning damage surges through the target, shutting you down much like a tazer, in addition to possible burns. Ice damage drops your internal temperature and makes it harder/painful to move. Whats earth damage? Throwing some mud at someone? If there was an Ebon Dragon sword, would there be little rocks being spat out of the hilt (keep in mind getting hit by a rock would be blunt damage)?

Basically, yes. Think of the factions earth aura.

The entire earth elemental line begs to disagree, starting with stoning. It is a little weird but it's been part of the GW for a while now, earth damage is a legitimate element and as deserving as any of the others.

IN my way of thinking.....it was a logical place to arrive at.
think about it like this....
DRAGON SWORD.
What is realating to dragons as we know them from mythology....
1.Fire
2. Ice
3. Poison ...... it would reason the be IMO that most dragons would, like most reptiles be able to use poison. the ability to breath fire, ice whatever is more of a supernatiral ablity than it is a gentic defense.
I don't think this was lost onthe devs either, since the bone dragons @ Majestys Rest will poison the crap out of you using necro skills.
Thus was the basis of my idea for the Poisonous Dragon Sword. It just seemed a natural fit.

So why don't we petition that a new dyeable/moddable sword with FDS skin be added?
Make it a high end drop of course - FDS, IDS, VDS have all been devalued enough...

What if I wanted to put it on my paragon beast master that uses a celestial compass offhand because it looks pretty? Still doesn't change the fact that it is inferior to other mods on anything but that w/r build. And that build is far from great.
Giving a weapon special treatment is not releasing a reskin with terrible mods. No one would use Dhuum's soul reaper if it had cold +15% while hexed +33% DW duration because it looks pretty. Hell, people don't use the VDS because vamp really isn't useful to an already useless weapon for warriors.

And you'll be doing piss damage because you cannot synergize with the necro's skills that put a warriors DPS (in pve) to shame.

So we should ask Anet to spend time away from content and skill updates to release a gimped weapon that few can actually use?
