Cannot Delete Char Option
I doubt this will be introduced to GW, but maybe for GW2,
I can see people using this in GW if it was introduced, they should add the option in the in game store that for say $2.99 you can buy the option to select 1 char that cannot be deleted, it removes the feature on that char, this feature cannot be undone.
That way in the event that some low life gets into your account the very worst they can do is strip armor/weapons etc etc, they cannot delete the up to 5 years you have put into a char etc,
You should be allowed to buy this feature for all chars, and once done it cannot be undone,
I know if this feature was available i would use it to protect some of my 5+ years chars in the event my account go hi-jacked.

What if you change your mind? you would be forced to buy another caracter slot.
And IMO if you take good care of your PERSONAL information, hijacking your account should be near impossible.
Id much rather see a 1 week reconsideration period where you have to wait a week for the caracter to delete (making certain event grinders useless aswell) and during that week you have the option to change your mind.

I dont see why we should have to pay for it, but I would definately use a 'do not ever delete this char ' option.

This is a troll right?
Hun if you are the sort of person who changes your mind you wouldnt make your char permanent. Frankly if you are the sort of person who would make your char permanent and then whine about it afterwards you are going to have much more things to worry about in life than a computer game

Uhm... I dont believe im trolling atm.
Either way PERSONALLY i cant bear to throw away any caracter i put any effort into, thats not the point. The point is a person can change their minds over the course of a year. Wouldnt be the first time somebody deleted their "main" because they achieved GWAMM. Perspectives can change over time.
And no something like this should not be free. It would only increase the grief.
Imagine being hijacked and seeing 6 lvl 1 paragons on your account. None of which you are able to delete.

AHAHAHAA That would be the only point why make this paying (not that it makes sense to make it paying).
And a trick I defenitely want to be able to pull off! How could 6 chars cost, maybe 15$? Definetely worth it!

Why on earth would you encourage Anet to make us pay for something like this? Anything related to account security should be free! I'm like most people and hope they are giving us some more security features with GW2, but I will definitely return my game to the store if I find out that they have to be purchased seperately. That's bullshit. Please don't encourage them.

I would hope that Anet is doing away with insta-deletes. Having it take anywhere from a few hours to a week would help keep stuff like that from happening constantly.

If this were implemented so that after buying, you would have to enter.. say.. your NCSoft's Master's Account information to activate it, then maybe. If implemented this way, there should also be a delete option if people do want to at some point; also to be linked to your Master Account.

Anet should implement a password (different to your logon) that you need to put in before deletion of a character occurs. That password won't be used very much so it'll be much harder to get, and if anyone does use the same password as their logon it's completely their fault. Also, account security should be free.

The simple way would be to lock the character, and have an option to unlock them that takes a long period of time.
So if I eventually decide that I want to remake Character Number 3, I unlock him, and I'll be able to delete him in a month. That's useful for me, but for a hacker, there is absolutely no reason to wait around that long just to be spiteful. If my account does get stolen, it is far more likely that I'll get it back within a month's time than a few seconds necessary for a full account wipe as it is now.

If you really want some sort of extra security against hackers..add in the capability to create a secondary password that needs to be entered before a character may be deleted.

Silkroad Online, if anybody else has played this, has a feature exactly like this, where if you choose to delete that character, you have a full week where (the character slot is still taken up, for the time being) you have the option to restore the character, as if you had never chosen to delete it in the first place.
I really like the idea Marty brought up. That should definately be implemented in GW2.

I wouldn't mind the option, with a lot of warnings and stuff, but for free.
Want to make a new character after that? Buy a new slot.
