Display Cartographer at 95%
Title says it all, 100% is very difficult to achieve without the use of 3rd party programmes, and since Anet doesn't like them it seems like a good idea to be able to display at an achievable rank such as 95%.

I, as long as many other players, have achieved legendary Cartographer with more than one character without using 3rd party programmes.
It is not "difficult" to move your butt in every corner of every continent, it is just boring.

Cartographers is a fairly easy though laborious task but certainly not one that should be made easier than it currently is

Your reasoning that it should be made displayable because Anet doesn't like 3rd party programs is wrong. I'm fairly sure I've seen a statement from Anet saying they don't mind texmod. And since you aren't altering the .dat file there is no reason they should be against it. You are just taking a screenshot and then altering it, if I remember the process correctly. Unless you are meaning a 3rd party program that maps for you automatically, then your reason is flawed.

Does it really matter? Is a 95% cartographer title really that much more prestigious than a 90%? And if you're at 95% already, odds are that you're planning on finishing the title anyway; how long are you really planning to be stuck at the 95% level?

I'm all for modifying the particularly shitty, fun killing titles. Getting the last ~5% cumulative from the 3 continents was such a sucky, soul consuming experience that I stopped playing GW for 2 months to detox.
95% is way too low though. They should re-weigh the carto numbers to make 98% count as 100.
Although, $10 on nothing ever being done.

That's a rather boolean title. Either you vanquished enough, or you didn't.
Elona took me just 3 days to explore. Cantha just 3 weeks. Tyria just 3 months. No programs used.

this is why titles arent just for grabs... you must do something in order to get something back... In this case a title for HoM... You are just one of these people who want it all simple and easy dont ya? >_>
Besides ANet said using TexMod is not bannable

Even if you do find this "difficult" by some act of God, isn't that the point of achieving a max title?
Why should people get to brag about not doing something?

anyone with 95% is gonna get 100% within at least a week or two...
I did it with texmod (only tyria and elona) and it isn't that hard. Elona was, because there were a couple of secret scraping thingies that weren't discovered yet back then, so I had virtually no leeway.. Oh, and Anet has officially said that texmod is ok, since you aren't messing with the game itself, just with the textures.
It isn't a hard title, it just takes long, and is boring, I advise you combine it with Vanq and Skill cap (something I didn't) and save yourself a lot of time..

If you don't wanna use texmod, make the effort to post maps here and have them looked at, or overlap them yourself to see where you need to scrape. Going from 100% max to 95% max does not only not make any sense, but it would make a title that is not hard ridiculously easy. Sometimes people forget that you actually have to work for some things in this game, I suggest you do the same.
If you can't be arsed to put in the effort, you don't deserve the title.

I've done elona cartographer (100%) without programs.
Just make a list of all the regions, and scrape the edges of every one of them, striking them off the list as you go along. It's a long, tedious task, but definitely not hard.
Pro tip: Vanquishing and exploring go hand in hand, since vanquishing leave the areas void of any foes.

LOL @ people saying that once you get to 95% you'll be at 100% in no time.
The only thing more annoying and frustrating than the last 5% is the last 1%.
Hitting 95% for me is a good excuse to go do something else for a while.
That being said, this is not a good idea. It's been said already: it's not a hard title, or even a grind title. It just requires a little effort and patience. /notsigned.

I'm fairly sure that a good amount of players were able to get their 100% without the use of third-party programs. Even so, ANet has expressed acceptance of certain programs, such as TexMod, which would assist you very handily in getting your 100% and not put you at high risk for a ban. There's no need to lower the requirement here.

Edit: I WAS gonna say "he doesn't want max to be 95%, he wants it to show a title at 95%" then I thought to myself, wait, it already does
so edit to my last post: I first misunderstood you. Dude 95% is piss easy, trust me, if you can't get 95% without texmod, you're doing stuff very wrong..
And, indeed that last 0,5% can make a man very pissed off, but if that's what you need to get GWAMM, that's what you need
I vote that all new threads that are a pure display of lazyness get /autoclosed because there are a lot of them hanging around lately. WORK for your titles, that's what they're made for! For the love of god!
