TBH, the odds that Anet will do a serious balance to Ele are quite the same.

Umh, maybe a slighty more-they would give u only 3 stacks of armbraces.

Make most of the elementalist aoe into aggrobubble sized or "spinn-map" sized. This would visually look a more impressive while also forcing some foes from aggro range, if it doesn't kill or injure them.

Lol - so making ele damage do the numbers that are listed in the skill descriptions at the cost of a bar slot that can't be abused by secondaries is OP?

It's not like Anet hasn't done something similar in the past - see TNTF

How about making Master of Magic non-elite so we can use Elemental Attunement with it? Make MoM a skill too and not an enchantment. Then you can have Elemental Attunement and the other attunements buff Ele skills only and problem solved. That way you can just remove Attunements from monsters so they don't become OP.

MoM could be changed to "Your elementalist skills use Energy storage instead of their normal attributes". (Signet of Illusions and Symbolic Celerity (non-elite!) say hello). But then you still have energy problems...

As a non elite in conjunction with Elemental Attunement, MoM would work wonders and give ele's access to all elements. heck, that way they could keep being the support characters they are now if they didn't upgrade the ele's damage at all.

TNTF's duration is only linked to the leadership attribute it wasn't moved to the leadership attribute...

Yes, would be, because unlike other professions like necromancers and mesmers that have lots of armor ignoring damage or you so verrrrryyyyy well put it, "make damage do the numbers that are listed in the skill descriptions" don't also have a shit ton of aoe skills with which to abuse that armor ignoring damage.

people like you are too accustomed to running discord spike heroes with huge single target damage to realize that if an aoe skill (i.e. searing flames) hits for 50 or 70 damage that it's not doing just 50 or 70 damage, but it's doing that times however many foes it hits.

Average sized group is what? 5-7 foes in proph, 8-10 faction, nf, eotn? These groups they have a nasty habit of standing fairly close which is why panic works so well. well what ever damage you do is multiplied by 5 to 10 sometimes more if you aggro too much so 53 avg. hit in HM by searing flames I'd say so in reality it's doing 265-530 damage on average.

Heres what you want to do cast Intensity (Searing Flames hits 106+bonus damage) 106* 5-10= 530-1060 damage plus whatever bonus damage you see fit... That is why what you want is overpowered.

It's also worth noting that threads like these should be deleted by mods are they are completly senseless Anet specifically John Stumme (I believe) stated when they released the Dervish overhaul that it would be the last of its kind. So no elementalist overhaul like most people in threads like these want.

I posted a suggestion on wiki a while ago: Conjures in PvE to add + damage to ele skills (akin to Mirror of Ice but non-elite). This would be two-fold: making it useful for Eles that cast frequently, and adding damage to spear attacks when on your shield set.

@Tshedd31, run Keystone Signet, Mark of Pain, domination stuff (wastrel's spam, overload, cry of frustration, mistrust, e-surge , Unnatural sig, mind wrack-shatter delusions), or even Illusion interrupts (Clumsiness, Wandering eye, Accumulated pain/finish him, Arcane Conundrum for energy/utility, Ineptitude is optional). Then compare.

Even echoed spirit rift does more, mainly due to built in cracked armor and the ability to rack up 20% Armor penetration with Destructive was Glaive.

Skills like Liquid Flame are bested by stuff like Desecrate enchantments (in HM they do similar damage), simply because ele skill lines have very usable little utility for PVE.

I've been playing my ele as my main for over 5 1/2 years now and never run a discord setup in all that time. And thanks for pointing out the mechanics of AoE - I never realised that. Perhaps I also missed the change to AI causing more scatter in HM reducing the DoTAoE ele spell effectiveness and the drastic reduction to ele damage due to the increase in HM mobs armour.........

There's nothing quite as satisfying as making up an extreme example using figures plucked from your imagination to make your point eh?

I don't recall asking for bonus damage on top of shadow or AP damage under intensity. If I confused you I apologise

What you believe John Stumme stated is not my concern. If the player base (or a part of it) makes a suggestion, then Anet can listen or not. I really don't see why you feel you have to gag discussion.
