Capped Elite skill do not replace original
Whenever you are capping an elite and go back to the outpost, your new elite replaces the old elite.
This is annoying because I don't need the new elite in my new skill bar.

Well i don't think this post is very well thought through at all. All you have to do is drag your elite to the right of the capped elite. There's no "fix" necessary.

it gets rid of the first elite in your bar if you put the cap sigs in the skill slots that come before your actual elite it will get rid of the capped skills.

Well, it isn't well thought out because there is no need for a complex formula.
It sounds simple to drag your elite to the bar, except there are hundreds of skills in the skill menu.
Searching for it again is a pain.

There are 8 skills on your skill bar, not hundreds.

You're confused.
After capping an elite an going back to the outpost, your elite replaces your original elite.

If you have more than one elite, the elite skill on the skill slot of the lowest number is removed, so for example if you have an elite on skill one, and a elite on skill two, the elite on skill one is removed.
So basically put your capture signet on skill one and it is solved.

The game used to work the other way around, that it would only retain the leftmost elite. This was far more intuitive IMO, as most people tend to stick their less used skills (like cap sigs) at the end.

Seems like a fairly minor annoyance but I see no reason not to fix it to be more intuitive.

Also, do you realise you can switch the order of your skills around while in an explorable area or mission? If you don't want to put the new unwanted elite closer to the left than the old one, just switch them around before going through a portal. This isn't a difficult thing to do.

wow..... this is one of the dumbest posts ive seen since that guy a few days ago suggested removing secondary professions.
/notsigned. stop being lazy. if it annoys you that much save your build beforehand and load it when you get into the outpost. problem solved. now stop being a baby and deal wtih it.

Sort by elite status..... you can't possibly be that lazy..... and you should at least pay attention to what attribute your original elite is under.

We all agree that this isn't a BIG issue and players could avoid problem either by having the capture signet left of elite either by draging elite to the skill bar once in an outpost.
BUT, this is still unintuitive, and even if it's not a big issue, I don't see any reason why I would say "no, don't change it". Making things better is always good, even for small things.
Plus, if you are in a dungeon, capture a skill, and forget to change the order before changing level ...

Would be even better if the retained elite was the one you didn't just capture, but this is maybe harder to implement.

Maybe the game should scan your brain IRL to find out which skill you prefer?

This doesn't make the game better, it makes it worse. What if I want to keep the Elite that I captured instead of the Elite that I took with me? It takes only one drag of the mouse to get the Elite skill you want to keep to the right of the one you want to get rid of, so I think it should just stay this way. The current system works both ways rather than one-sided.

I remember when the update to change this came through. Randomly, ANet changed it so that when you capped an elite it changed the LEFTMOST skill on your bar rather than the RIGHTMOST.
So, if you don't want it to replace your elite. Put the capsig on the left.
