Is there a reason why we cant craft from HOM?
I find it stupid that we can't go to the HoM and "craft" a weapon/armor without using mats sort of like the costumes. The equip would be customized and un-salvageable anyways. Is there a reason why Anet didn't add this feature into HoM??
I ask because I got my account hacked and lost some valuable items IE fow armor and my tormented longbow among others, but this feature would would help to prevent hackers from "taking" items IF you could craft items from HOM.
Edit: This would ONLY be character wide not account.

the feature could be abused as you can salvage your fow or vabbi armor for the materials they are worth, same for the weapons.
Sorry your account got hacked

/signed if it is for character HoM and not account HoM.
Otherwise you'd only have to buy one FoW set for all your characters to be running around in it.

People need to start reading the OP's post.
/signed, this would be good, imo.
though only thing i could see being a "problem" is people crafting 40/40 tormented sets for all their heroes, for free.but thats hardly a "problem" since we dont play with real people anylonger.

^^ hmmm heroes are a no no like I said it would be customized for your character only no one else.
Yes for character only, that would be stupid and very bad for economy if it was account wide.

I did read his post. He said nothing about having it as character or account hom. If he wanted it to be account hom then all he'd have to do to have all his characters running around in obby is buy it on one character, switch to another, open the account wide hom, and get a free set of unsalv/untradeable obby for a character he didn't earn it for.

The thing about that is, anything that is customized to you, are usable by your heroes too. =[

hmm well I'm pretty sure they could program something that would only allow the items to be put on the players character and not NPC's.

Limit it to armor and make it require at least 5k. You can get replacement weapons relatively cheap as long as you don't care about skins.

Well I think the whole point of the post is that the OP's account was hacked and all his hom items were stolen, and he wanted back the skins that he had earned.
If it were applied to weapons/minis/armor then essentially customised items could be recreated in bulk but only for the char who customised it, and non-customised items would drastically increase in price, at least for a while anyway.

It could be a good idea, if there was some way of limiting the "crafting" to only replace one missing item, but there is no way to determine that the one item is indeed "missing" (instead of merely being on a Hero or friend).
For some items, such as armor, it could work if you could only re-craft armor that you had put into the HoM on a per-character basis, but weapon crafting would obviously result in multiple copies for all your heroes.
Given the problems involved and the time it would take to code it, test it, and implement it . . . it aint gonna happen.

This COULD work if they, say, made a costume designer that could create a COSTUME from any armor you have dedicated in the HoM. That is, you could get an Obby armor costume to wear (for specific character or acct wide I don't care much myself... though probably the general consensus would be character only). I'd have to say there shouldn't be a similar functionality for weapons though. If there were a costume creator like this, it would mean you would still need to have regular armor, but this would help to address the problem of carrying multiple armor sets around on your character.
Still I don't expect to see something like this happen.

Hate to say it, but it was probably your own fault you did not read the thread and posted some random junk no one asked or wanted to know and your just SoL (Whatever that means).
Back on topic. I would sign this because most of the items on display in my HoM end up on Heroes anyways because I cant use daggers on my main char and I dont feel like adding the daggers for a sin character I never really play at all.
Making the weapons / Offhands useable for Heroes would not be gamebreaking either /bonus says hi. The only problem I see with this is in items with multiple possibilities (Professions and skill lines such as wands staves or Offhands or types such as Bows).
I think this would actually even drive item prices up temporarily because players will want every possible weapon type in their HoM as opposed to the absolute minimum to get full points for the HoM Calculator.

Duh....I'm not really complaining per-say because lucky me I did put my weapons and armor in the HoM the point of this thread was to get peoples attention about CRAFTING items from HoM, to prevent hackers from destroying items that people worked there ass off to get.
And it wouldn't be that hard to implement since they already use this mechanic "somewhat" in the festival hats and costumes.

SoL = sh*t out of luck
I suggest using google sometime. It will be the second result if its too hard for you to find.
The /bonus items are a joke. Not to mention most of them are useless and the ones that are worth putting on heroes either cant be upgraded or salvaged. This game needs goldsinks to keep players busy, which is why ANet created the HoM in the first place, and giving a new character a complete arsenal for their heroes at a mouse click is just plain stupid. Also if you want torm daggers on your sin then dedicate them on your sin. The OP's reason for even suggesting this was because he got hacked and hes just going to have to start over unfortunately.

You'd have issues with players potentially scamming other (new) players with infinite non-salvageable armor pieces and weapons....I know I still see lots of players asking to buy armor, and with an infinite supply of useless armor those players would get scammed so hard.

Wait, so are they too useless to play with or so good that you don't ever need to buy weapons for your heroes?

By all means use the good ones if they are at your disposal and you don't have the money to buy weapons for your heroes. I think they are joke just because I would rather have weapons with different mods and in terms of hero weapons, function > skin by a wide margin. I know many people use them simply because its a free weapon to the poorer player and that's all good but it was their reward for preordering the game and they do come with limitations. I didn't see it as a good argument for putting in this kind of feature.

If there is a feature to craft this, then I wouldn't need to buy weapons for my heroes, I can just get a new one.
