afk seller/buyer mode
afk seller/buyer mode new implementation and features
basics
-it is a mode in party formation called afk mode with icon next to hard mode icon
-it can only be selected in 3 cities: kamadan, lions arch and kaineng center
-new features include customer list, hibernate and party search modification
Party List
-a new section called afk players tab will be added to the right of henchman in party search
-you can only add messages to the tab if in afk mode
- if you change districts, cities or exit afk mode your message is removed
-only one message per account
-new fields with will be character-automated, function b,s,t-dropdown box , timeframe .25, .5, 1, 3, 6, 24,x -dropdown box and description- customizable field (party size and district will not be displayed), finally a timestamp of time message posted-automated
b=buying s=selling t=trading .25= check messages typically ever 15
mintures, 3= check messages typically every 3 hours, no time frame
Customer Window
- saves up to 50 unique accounts of the first people to message you
- each account that pms you will get a line of text displayed in the customer window as follows
--their name posted like exactly like friends list and clickable...ie if their away it will say if their logged on other character it will say
--the first line of text they pm'd you and a parentheses of what message you had posted at the time
-when you click the line you have a drop down box with
--add to customer list (50 accounts allowed and a new section in friends list below ignored)
--delete
--prioritize (brings to top of list and adds a + sign
--deprioritize (brings to bottom of list and adds a - sign
--pm
-mass message control
-- delete all messages
--delete all depriortize messages
-- delete all messages not prioritized
-lastly a counter that displays a simple number of people that contacted you but were not able to be added because you passed the 50 mark (those people will get an auto-reply saying customer list is full at the time)
Hibernate
-a new log out function
-your afk message will stay even if not logged in
-the only function while hibernating will be a message in party search afk mode and messages added to the customer window
-you can choose to hibernate for up to 10 hours but you select the number
-if your customer window is full you are changed from hibernate to logged out automatically
limitations
-party search can accomodate up to 200 accounts per city
-equal opportunity function
-a behind the scenes program that tracks peoples afk mode usage and demand for afk mode which kicks people based on how long they have afk moded per month so that if the demand is greater than 200 the person with the most afk with at least exceeding 7 days in a month will be kicked otherwise it will prevent any more people from going into afk mode
other
-a mp3 of your choice residing on your computer will be played on your computer for the first unique account pm you get
--option to turn on/off
--plays if online even if gw is minimized
This should give some life to kaineng center if demand is exceeded in kaineng and lions arch. Should help people connect from different time zones. Reduce waiting around times for buying and selling

I enjoy your idea, especially how it's a lot more expansive in comparison to a lot of the F2P MMORPG's Player Shops. Unfortunately, an Auction House idea would be a lot better and reduce server traffic as well as be more convenient. Also, this isn't the first time this idea has been suggested (in it's many forms or another).
Your idea definitely has a LOT more depth than the others, which is nice ;D
Still,

Sound like GW will become more like Second Life with all these installed.

This is too much for the 3 person live team to handle. I would however like to see a market mode that allows you to sell things in the 3 major port cities while afk. It would be easy and make the game soooooooooooo much better(cant stress this enough). Why they haven't done this yet is beyond me.
/notsigned for your massive list

You've obviously put a lot of thought into this, and Aphotic said, it's definitely a lot more fleshed out than the other trade suggestions I've seen. It's 100% certain that a marketplace will NOT EVER HAPPEN in GW1. Ever. So saying that a marketplace idea would be better is an entirely pointless statement.
I'm gonna /sign to see where this goes.

/not signed.....6 year old game....new one coming out next year (or so )....everyone will be leaving--no reason for big ole marketplace--will be empty. (and since the 'team' working on such things is soooo small by the time they would get around to such an idea I think my grandkids would be in college--and I dont even HAVE kids!)

A simpler solution that would solve much of the problem for afk buyers and sellers would be to make it so that whispers you receive while set to 'away' are never deleted from your chat box before other messages. So alliance chatter, local, or trade channels won't erase your messages and you can write down names, add to friends list, return the messages of anyone who asks you without worrying about losing them, especially when a new build of gw comes in. Still in trouble if you dc, but you are with your method too.
As for the hibernate mode, that would be quite useful, but I would keep it simple and just have a separate tab where any account can leave one message indefinitely for players to sift through, sorted of course by time it was posted and erasing messages that are older when a certain pre-set number has been taken. Lists could still be sifted between wtb, wts, wtt, it would basically be ventari's corner but with a lot less description space. Still pitiful to an auction house or consignment house though since players would have to sit through a large and annoying mass of information, and I can't see them actually doing it. The change to when how whispers are treated though would be quite nice though, and is also useful for any other player that wants to afk but has messages cleared out by local or guild chatter.

This is the simplest and most useful idea, I don't know why you would make it so complicated...

This is essentially a re-hashing of the marketplace idea, which we've had around for a while.
