To test how my warrior would look, I had to make a PvP duplicate and play with the two inventory images in an image-editing program to see if I would like the way it looked. I hate to use full sets of armor. Mix-and-match FTW! I'm considering Ancient Leggings on my ele, but I don't know how that would look with the rest of her armor. I've wanted an armor preview for a long time.
PLEASE, A.NET?! PLEASE? XD

I agree with this, I've very often wanted to be able to see what 15k armour would look like before buying it (and soemtimes regretted >.<) so I'd definitely make use of something like this ^^

Well who knows how many of the ideas in this posted throughout this forum will be incorporated into Guild Wars II. If that game is actually better than this one, it is going to make record sales. I would think an armor preview would be the least of the improvement/enhancements. GAMER GEEKS RULE!!!

I really like the idea for the armor fitter, seems really nice, kinda like the dye preview. Yea, kinda like when you see your cape and when you see you dye. It would really help to see the armor before you buy it /signed

I really like this idea, it would be great to preview armor before you bought it. However, I like to mix and match armor from all over GW, so I guess it wouldn't be that useful for previewing mixed sets...but a great idea nonetheless.

Yeah... If they make the preview window have dye slots like the dye preview wndow (could be the very same panel) you could also try the same dye for the complete set.
They culd add a 'preview everything' checkbox to both panels.
Well.. armor are customized,, but armorers could have 'try before buy' sets, XD.

/signed. I've wanted this for awhile now.
Until then, i just study them on wiki. A little trick I've found for previewing armor mixes is to find the photos on the official guildwiki. Some of these are stock pictures and are all the same size, face, pose, and angle, and no background. They are incredibly easy to photoshop and its a great way to see if you like it or not. Lately though they've been updating with in-game pictures so the trick might not be around much longer.

Oh to have this feature would be awesome! I too mix it up and recently bought a pair of boots, only to turn right around and salvage what materials I could from them. =(

Considering this is a nice welcome back to a 2005 thread I have to say it's by far one of the best ideas I ever saw.

Come on Anet. 3 Year Thread?
It's about time we had this put in. A small solution I use now is looking for people who already have that armor, and take screenshots of them. Though this hardly helps me as the dye is sometimes bad and the face and hair are way off.

Yay! Just a simple button [Preview]
We don't even need to mix sets or something like that, just popup the preview panel with the compelte set that corresponds to the piece.
People would have to bring their own dyes to see them, and done.
