Why the heck, after six years of updates and development, do runes and insignias still not stack?

I've been trying to stockpile based on the armors I eventually want to get for my characters, and as a result my storage is almost nothing but runes and insignias.

And that's with each character holding the runes which only apply to their individual professions.

Everything else in this game stacks.
Materials stack.
Dyes stack.
Collective drops stack.
Presents stack.
Tomes stack.

It seems to my entirely uneducated eye that coding runes and insignias to stack wouldn't take that much effort.

Why would you hold a bunch of runes for armors you will get in the future? Just sell them and buy as you get the armors.

Runes and insignia can be identified to reveal their inherent value (in gold). Each rune has his own value, so all runes are different, that's why you can't stack them.

I agree runes should stack, but I also agree with victor if it's that annoying just sell ALL of them and rebuy later when you get your armour, the buy/sell price on runes does have a close spread to not lose that much.

I'm not one that collects a bunch of runes, but looking at black dye...
if black dye didn't stack I think it would be worth a lot less..and if people could stack runes they might start hording runes like superior vigor and it could turn into a currency.

Agree with this. Runes/insignias aren't all that expensive to require you to have to save them for future use. The only runes/insignias that I could see you holding onto are Superior Vigor runes. Otherwise, just buy the others when you actually get the armor. No sense in wasting space on tons of runes/insignias when they are just a few hundred gold a piece.

Or use storage characters. Noway all you have over 6 characters that you all play on often. For example, I have a pretty decked out warrior that I use for storage and I put all those items on another char during events to farm on him. etc. Or just use PvP chars for storage. If you have all campaigns, youll have plenty of char slots.

You don't stack them, you put them in your heroes or sell them to the trader.

The last thing this game needs is a bunch of idiots using Superior Vigor rune stacks as currency.
