Make Spear Swipe AoE
Reduce it's daze time by a wee bit and maybe the damage and just make it an aoe attack. Why would you stop swiping after just hitting one thing? I mean you already have to haul arse up to melee range to use it anyway. And it's 10 energy pretty much just to daze, you can remove that easily.

Melee range, keep the 10 energy or make it adren(maybe 8-9 though)
Melee Attack: Hit for +10..15..20 and inflict Daze on target and nearby foes for 1..2..3 seconds.
no effect unless target has Cracked armor.(maybe other condition)

Spear swipe is just a terrible skill. If you want to inflict daze bring stunning strike, which is ranged I might add. If you want AoE daze bring techobabble.

Stunning Strike is also an elite skill. Spear Swipe is not. Technobabble is a PvE skill (limited to three - and you'll probably have Save Yourselves and There's Nothing To Fear anyway, then Battle Standard or Spear of Fury) and doesn't affect bosses.
Spear Swipe is actually one of the few okay Paragon skills if you ask me. It's certainly not a skillbar mainstay, but it's great utility at times you need to fit in some reliable caster shutdown and need your elite for something else (typically keeping Save Yourselves powered). Especially before the Embark Beach update, it was an invaluable skill to me when doing the earlier areas in Prophecies in Hard Mode.
Plenty of ways to cover your Daze as a Paragon too, seems you have easy access to the following conditions: Deep Wound, Burn. Semi-easy access to: Weakness, Bleed, Cripple.
It's fine. Leave it be.
The only change it really needs if you ask me is a different animation; The Paragon should hit the enemy with his Spear when using it, not run up and throw it at point-blank. That's not a swipe.

Couldn't the same logic be said for any weapon? Why would someone with a sword stop swiping after hitting just one thing? All sword attacks should be AoE!

There are hundreds of skills that are pretty much useless at the moment, and this would still be just as useless in almost all situations. Don't really see the reason to change it. The idea of making a paragon come into melee to do something big is good, but thats all it is: a good idea. The incentive to slowly run after things just isn't large enough unless the end result is monstrously overpowered, which would be bad.

Excuse me, but who brings daze to PvE? :S
If anything, make a split version, with Hit [1...2...3] additional foes. for PvE

Only if you're Conan the Barbarian. Seriously though, most if not all swords are not used like that in RL. In case you're a victim of the "great sword" cliche I suggest reading this.

Regarding your reasoning for why Spear Swipe should be AoE, read this.
And I can see AoE Daze being a bad idea for PvP. I can just envision warriors bringing this skill and a spear set just to inflict massive Daze on 2 casters who randomly kited near each other. Daze is by far the best condition in the game, PvP-wise, for how well it shuts down casters and for the fact it has 2 effects on people.
/notsigned for entire overhaul for this skill
/whynot for PvE. Daze is kind of useless in PvE anyway.

I love spear swipe for PvP, but it's useless in PvE.
A better discussion would be to make Stunning strike AoE since it's an elite.

Also wanna point out EVERY other class has aoe skills. We can make sins do 100 aoe and dervs aoe life stealing/conds AB wars aoe kd, but aoe asking aoe daze for like 5 seconds is too much? If people don't wanna get daze at the same time then don't stand next to each other?

U mean like Lyssas Haste, Distracting blow, Cry of Frustration, Meteor, and any attack with a choking gas on a now can potentially be aoe interrupts? :/
