Dead Hours And Abusers
Hello everyone...
So as you know, many people are syncing GvG and Codex for free strongboxes, title points and factions... but this starts to happen also in Heroes Ascent because of inactivity :
Right now, you can press B and see a team is having a full run fighting a themselves on second accounts ( DotA guild)... whereas there is noone in id1 which means they can go along for few more hours...
I really don't find it fair to not be able to do anything whereas abusers are rewarded for doing it.. Considering it can't be banned obviously, here are my suggestions :
- Rework formats to make them more fun
- Easier access ( heroes/hench parties).. this would in fact solve all problems..
- Doing something against multi-game launch...logging on 10 accounts is pretty ridiculous and it's the basis of every PvP abusing...
- Replacing RA by Costume brawl and Codex by TA... it will be then less annoying to face dervishs invoke eles and monks all day + noone plays codex seriously anyway..
Waiting your comments

My guild tried codex, seriously, and fought just one team of other humans, we had a 9 win streak playing various bot teams. We got bored of it and left.
Anet doesn't care, most pvp gaming is abused, RA-sync, codex sync with bot teams, HA dead hours farming, GvG box farming, so the titles mean nothing. You try reporting match manipulation of one kind or another, and nothing changes, you get a generic reply and the same players carry on doing the same things.
PvP is not dead yet, but it is getting to the stage of being pointless with such blatant abuse going unchecked.

I often wonder who's more to blame for the current state of the PvP scene - ANet for not taking serious steps against abusers, or the players themselves for abusing the hell out of it, then crying in the forums how PvP is dead (and, usually, that's the reason they give why to sync dual accounts - there's no one alive to play with, so hey, let's farm boxes).

People on dead hours got the choice between not playing or syncing it...can you really ban them then ?
They would have to find a way to prevent the obvious... the game is going to get worse along months. Giving strongboxes ( i.e rewarding more players for abusing formats such as Codex) wasn't really a good idea...

I'm not saying this to side with the people who abuse the system...but if you really have that much of an issue with it, get some friends together and play the dead hours and just beat the syncing team(s).

There is far less "syncing" and more "everyone dual boxes, to get on a second account, to lose in UW, to let the only other team advance to halls."

can't blame the person syncing it, its not his fault the game is dead at this hour of the day.
if they promoted the game more in asia and didnt remove the districts then it would not be as dead as it is now.
anet will not remove multi logging, removing it means less revenue for them, and they need as much revenue as they can get from a f2p game.

damn it!.
Yeah I dunno, if there's a reward for something that is potentially exploitable, people will exploit it. It's not entirely ANet's fault... They add things to make a lot of whining players happy, in turn, other players will whine about the addition.
I say leave it be, those people who wanna breach the EULA for match manipulation can go ahead and risk losing their account to staff who barely ever check for those things anyway. I mean in the end, it's only a game.. None of your strongboxes will carry over to gw2.

I'd love to, but there's a reason they're called dead hours. Me (or my friends) and lots of other people can't be online at those times, mainly because of their real lives. Those who can afford to stay up until 5am (or live in a 'convenient' timezone for such abuses) can exploit the hell out of the system.

Dead hour farm in HA has been around for years, and everyone from the HA community knows them and their guilds. It wasn't as bad back then, dead hour was more when the competitive players went off and left a few groups to farm the PUGs. Of course now it's slightly different, where dead hour means 3 halls skips in a row, 1v1 all the time and syncers.
And Codex? Oh jesus that place is a joke. Farming boxes, selling codex titles. I feel sorry for Anet really. They can't do much about these types of exploits when there is no playerbase to work on. They're forced to change the situation completely in order to accommodate the extremely low population. I don't know why they didn't see this coming.
I'll agree on anything that will bring back some fun into PvP again. So naturally TA should come back but with restrictions like max 2 per profession per team to at least allow some creativity.
As for HA, it's this simple: It's a tournament style game. How can a tournament function properly with insufficient numbers of people? It can't, it ends up like it is now with mega halls skips. IMO, shorten the timer and force people to play on every map in sequence before they reach HoH. HoH can have a seperate timer.

I severely doubt that bringing back a tumor that was part of the cancer that killed tombs is going to fix it.

The reason of its removal was totally pointless and would fit for almost any format today.. What i, however, find fun is that they never ever went on arguing more on the 2 formats deleted and especially on codex....
Really, how can you leave a format synced and abused for easy reward almost anytime except on zquest the way it is...I find it hilarous when players in gtob are " WTS Codex strongboxes 5k/each ( 150 left) "

i honestly don't mind codex or any of the past arenas, but they should have a check in place like <20 teams = no strongboxes and if 20> teams then get 1 strongbox per a win, this would deter most of the syncers unless they are willing to get a load of clients up.
