o_O i had a talk about that in RL not long ago
yes, i think its weak anyway, and i prefer others over that weak imp, but it'd be fun if you dont have others atm..... its not OP at all (not in any way) and would be nice to at least have 1 which you can use anytime (except for solo missions) IF you bought it that is
i did, but i'll use myst. stones anytime, lol (i love that crystal guardian and the crystal spider.... wish they had their own not-very-hard-to-get stones)
fire imp would kinda make up for the smaller community we have compared to years ago, but tbh... wouldnt do much, except a lil dmg
in pre it'd be a nice companion.... but i'm far from lvl 20 there, lol (kinda farming alot and hoping for some help with the post sear stuff i need)
its a nice idea, as that summon isnt very strong... or that effective, but would do a lil more dmg
btw, it didnt do any good in HM, so GL with that if that ever happens
(i got it from myst. summon stones on HM, and sucked)
if you can wait 10 minutes, it can be a nice tank or distraction if you wanna run away.... on NM, in HM its dead in no time, even if there's minions and spirits combined with it
so.... i see no reason not to do, except for bigger things that can be done in GW, once we got more, they could consider this, i guess

we have plenty of other summoning stones to use and as ayuhmmi pointed out, the imp isnt very strong at level 20. (though I would also point out the wintersday summoning stones are pretty dang weak too).
(if you miss having an imp with you, get the minipet )

its a nice bonus to newer players if you ask me, so that'd be 1 reason to do it (as long as its that 1 stone... no need to make new stones for that..... imp )
they'll get rid of it once they know the game some better, and since the game has lost lots of people who helped when someone needed help (talking about newbies needing help now) without hesitating (alot more than lately)
newbies could use an extra dmg dealer (even though its just a lil), as they eventually will delete it once they found stronger builds and summon stones
that counts for newbies who bought the fire imp, or people who just wanna get through starter areas a bit faster with their LDoA (dunno if some people actually become lvl 20 before getting through starter islands)
i mean, its a small change, and some peeps may like it.... cant understand why, but there may be people... who knows
oh yea, now that i mention newbies... some people did return to GW (for a bit) after not playing a few years, and became real bad, they may find use with that stone at lvl 20, lol
o_O normally if i talk about that stone, i think about pre.... guess pre isnt that much to me anymore, cuz there it could help a bit, even though at lvl 20 the charr are weak, especially if you picked up event-based buff items
EDIT: actually, i did get it on HM, but the 1 time i remember its worthless at lvl 20, was NM in eotn..... says alot, yea, they can make it lvl 20 accessible

Yeah I have the mini pet but it's just not really the same. I like having the little guy running around with me. It's not really an issue if he's strong or not because I don't want him for added firepower. I just think if we have the stone why not allow us to keep using it? I mean it's not like the difference in power between lvl19 and 20 is significant enough to make a difference and as it's been said, other stones are far better. This is one of those "why not?" kind of situations.
Just an idea for something already in game and giving it a little more life and use.

I would love to have the imp by my side on my level 20 characters
To solve the problem keep the imp a level 19 ally Then it would not be any more powerful than it currently is now.
I understand it's not that simple but surely there must be a workaround otherwise it's just a waste after you reach level 20...

Signed for having it spawn a L15 Imp, otherwise no, there's plenty of summoning stones available already.

o_O even weaker than lvl 19? a fire imp even weaker??
if something becomes a lil more useful, you seem to dislike it
i already said its much better to take other stones, and since people paid for this one, i guess endless usage cant hurt....

I don't imagine that the imp would need to be reduced in level or restricted for whatever reason considering it was built around mobs created for Pre Searing Ascalon. Anything past that is more then likely going to be a match for it.
I'm quite sure that it being an endless use stone is a factor in it not being usable in post but the stone is untradeable so that reduces the impact of it on top of it being a little weaker then others.
Consider bonus items that you can create in pre and continue to use as many times as you want to fill up heros later on. They have no restrictions and yet you get max damage weapons with zero effect on the economy and gameplay.

I totally forgot that the imp can be used outside of pre searing In which case I see no reason for it to not be level 20 for level 20 characters seeing as there are already many other summons available.

Endless uses requires balance. I still think once you're L20 in pre, you don't need it, and outside of pre there is a wealth of stones available to use. A Mysterious can still summon an imp I believe.
In any case, un-restriced summoning over and over is not gonna get my support.

Endless use does indeed require balance and in the case of the stone, the balance has already been put into place. for one, the stone can only be used one at a time in any party. The stones all share a time delay of use after death.
As for the unlimited uses, consider max damage bonus weapons. Plus, I'm sure you probably have a few hundred stones at any given time much like a lot of people. The only ones who don't are those that sell them. I rarely use them so it's not a factor for me personally to run out of them. Like I said, I don't want the imp for power, I just like having it around. I'd be happy with it just travelling around with me (not the mini as it's too small ) as a companion and not an attacker just like the mini but that's not going to happen either. So the solution is to give the stone back it's intended use.
As for a wealth of stones to use that's true. But this isn't asking for a stone to be created nor is it asking for a stone that creates an overpowered monster. It's just asking for an already existing item to have a longer and more useful purpose.

I wouldn't use it much, because I use mysterious stones most of the time.
But when I was in pre, farming char for bags and salvage kits, I sat ages on lvl 19 with 98% to level 20, only because having the imp at level 19 made easier farming than doing it alone at level 20. That just seems weird, so might as well make it usable at lvl 20, who cares anyway?

i did say i got a fire imp (from myst stone) in eotn (NM) and it was dead in no time, so its far from overpowered... meaning balance is there
also, you need to buy it (reallife money), so let us have what we paid for even at lvl 20
there's nothing bad at making it lvl 20 usable, as its weak, cuz it cant survive well (especially in HM, when i did those WiK wanteds), and it barely gives any support even as tank.... and as i've seen, using it it does dmg as low as pre sear lvl 20
tbh, i hated it when i saw the fire imp is from the myst stones.... its useless
it can tank for only 1 or 2 enemies on NM (enemies lvl 18-20) and in HM it can't (if my monk heroes werent this good, it'd be dead in no time, lol)
even snowman and grentch summons are better even in HM (prolly due to their defensive skills, and leaving better dmg)
in pre you could use the lvl 20 fire imp just to help others and/or to farm stuff you'd like.... including event items, at the charr if you wanna
its nice to have a fire imp in case you have no other summon stones, or if you dont need that much firepower, but still a bit more dmg
tell me, whats this "balance" you talk about?
you pay for a fire imp, and if you could use it at lvl 20, you only can use it in some circumstances, cuz in most cases it dies.... and you still cannot use it in solo missions, just like other summon stones
if they'd sell a stack of myst stones in the ingame store, and people would buy it, they wouldnt be happy to not being able to use it at lvl 20, for example
and yes, i also bought it, for the sake of pre sear char (its lvl 10.. not 20), and a big advantage at low lvl areas..... until lvl 20, then i would even delete it, as most summons from myst stones are way better (my favorites are crystal guardian and spider)
and i sometimes use celstial stones (that dragon is truely strong)
its not that i'm picking a fight with you, or challenge you, i just want to know why you think the balance would be bad if that weak and paid for stone would work at any lvl
dont take me wrong, if you did, i'm sry if i wasnt clear enough
EDIT: just to make it a bit more clear:
i'm using myst stones all the time at places which are harder than regular stuff, like wanteds HM, vqs and z quests
and nothing would change, except for my pre sear char
all my chars have those myst stones, lol, i always fill em up if they lost some, and if i did nick farms

To be honest, ever since eye of the north (cons + pve skills), any talk about balance in pve pretty much makes me lol.
Not that I don't respect your opinions, but vanquishing is faceroll easy as it is; why not let people use the imp at level 20? I don't necessarily endorse a limitless summon stone, but I don't understand why they'd put the restriction on it, if they decide to put one in the game.
