Competitive PvP Guild - suggestions?
In this case competitive PvP guild means that guild can fight for top places in a ladder after a release.
What is mandatory to be competitive? What helps to be more competitive? Guild organization, guild rules, requirements to guild leaders/members? Anything else?
I want to see your opinions and discussion. I'll post my thoughts later too, but first i want to see what others think.

Besides having a bunch of competitive people the #1 thing if you want to be at the top? Information.
Make sure you're on top of or atleast "in the know" of as much information as possible. You're players can be skilled, but if no one in the guild knows whats going on around at the top you may be fighting a losing battle.

#1 is of course team chemistry if you hate each others guts you’re not getting stuff done
Other then that ventrillo/team speak is required and some smarts for both builds and group design. I suspect guilds will need at least 3 useful characters per person so they have a variety of choices and can change tactics quickly if a new strategy starts being pervasive. Also Depending on how volatile the top ranks are, knowing your enemy will be very important so when you challenge them you know what you're fighting.

I ran a team in Tribes and played in a very, very successful Halo PC team and these are my thoughts.
1) Fun. You gotta have fun more than you compete. If you're not having fun, stop whatever your'e doing, read a funny webcomic, go try and gank some low level mobs, and then go back after you've spent time laughing. Frustrated players don't want to be playing and they'll make mistakes and spread a bad mood, thusly creating more mistakes and leading to a loss of teamwork.
2) Teamwork. This takes a long time to build to a high level, and you hafta grind it with sheer playing time. I would feel confident taking almost any team into a PvP situation if I was confident in my teammates abilities to perform their tasks and interact with the rest of the team. Teamwork is the abliity of members to interact with eachother in beneficial ways. So practice it.
3) Practice. This relates to teamwork, but there's a bit of a twist I propose. You've gotta spend time of course in game practicing, but you also need to go over your strats outside of the game where you can evaluate them without stuff exploding all overhte place.
Well that's it, especially since I'm so tired I'm going to fall over...
G'nite and happy hunting

You have to have a leader, someone that lays down the strategy and directs everyone in combat. With leadership comes discipline, and discipline is the glue that holds the team together.
Without a leader you end up with people straying from the initial strategy and going off to do their own thing. You need someone to point them back where to go, with the authority to actually make them do it. It only takes 1 leak to sink a ship, so make sure EVERYONE knows what they're doing and where they're supposed to be.
If your strategy is failing, rather than everyone collectively panicking and completely losing coordination, you have someone who can give a new strategy and get everyone back to working together.
Practice is another big thing. Before you go head first into GvG to try out a strategy, go to the tombs and try it, you'll not only practice the strategy but also get an idea of whether it works well, and you won't lose ladder ranking because of it.
