Snowy regions and animals
i've noticed that on the snowy regions of the map it is hard to see the paths and back track. even when looking on the mini map.
I'm thinking that there should be a toggle that would enable a red line or blue line or whatever color you want to track behind you on the radar screen in the bottom right corner of your screen. I know it is already done on the main map when you hit "M", but something on your radar would be a lot more helpful.
also i think the animal collectors should give money or items for your charmed animals. It's kind of a waste to level an animal up so high, then turn him in for no reward. I think the amount of money or quality of the item should be based on the rarity of the animal as well as the level.

If you press "P", you toggle the minimap with the red dotted line on it.

You give away your animal when you want to get another one, not to sell it to slavery .

since you have no control over them and cannot train them it is a nonissue

The higher level the pet is, the harder it is going to be for a new owner to control, so the more difficult it will be to find a new home. Therefore, the tamer ought to charge you more money for the service he's providing you the higher level your pet is.

perhaps you're right. I just think animals in this game should serve more of a purpose rather than just slashing at stuff you're shooting at. maybe mounting in the future of guildwars? I've never played WoW but i heard of mounting from that game and i think its a really good idea.

A quick forum search for "mounts" will show you the general consensus of them is a resounding no.
The map travel system found in this game makes such an addition unnecessary.
