Sounds sort of morcheebaish. Whats the music.
Why the hell do that allow you to walk through the lava? Proably havent programmed it in yet. I imagine it will catch you on fire eventually :P

Well, so far they haven't ever allowed you to take damage in a safe area like exploring the guild hall. I'm guessing the lava "turns on" when the guild battle actually starts.

When you're in a guild battle, stepping into lava gives you both crippled and "on fire" conditions- meaning you'll be moving slowly and losing 14 hp per second while you're there.
As for the tactical advantages for the guild hall, it's probably the best guild hall for an AoE-oriented build. If they decide to head to the lava, you can drop some water spells on them to slow them further, and if they take the narrow bridges, there's nowhere for them to go to get out of AoE spells.

Yes, You do get crippled and take fire damage from lava. I used to sprint through it in the Crag to get an artifact across easier.

the lava doesn't hurt when you are in your guild hall and haven't launched a battle, but when you're in "combat mode" and facing another team, as stated before, it makes you crippled and on fire.
edit: btw, the music is Ivy - Worry About You

The big surprise in that guild hall are the level 28 Cursed Flame Sentinels that guard the back way.

no no.. he's right.
my guild got the Druid's guild hall (or will get...) and one of our members reported that although the waters of the river don't do anything when you are exploring the area, they are actually magical and are "turned on" once you begin to battle. i'm guessing the lava is the same way - cause we've probably all burned ourselves at the Crag for fun.

Very nice video actually. Why: because it was simple and showed the guild hall nicely. I didn't have to wait for the video to load really, and it even had music.
I really wish you brought the camera on that stone head with fangs or whatever though, although they show it in the ArenaNet video too. I was wondering what area that Head was in, and now I know...

Anyone care to make a video of each of the 7 guild halls as a tour after release?
There are three guild halls that have special properties so far (that I know of):
Druid's Hall: Healing waters of river
Ice Hall: Stand still on the ice and get slowed movement for a few seconds
Lava Hall: Stand in the lava and get fryed
Not sure if the hunter's, warrior's, dead, or magician's halls have anything special.

The castle/catacombs-like one has tar covering all of the middle courtyard around the flag, which slows movement. There's also a little double-portculius in the middle area (which you could control by switches), but doesn't seem to work right now.
