Default Does it seem kind of surreal to anyone else?

With release less than a week away it feels like a dream to me. For those of us (I'm assuming here) that werent in alpha testing each BWE has been like christmas each month. After its over you are left craving more, now that we will be able to play anytime we want it just seems like an elusive dream that you long for but can never realize is about to come true.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Yes. Just imagine this. Being able to play GuildWars ANYTIME you want. WOW! What a concept.

*hehe* kind of... but I think Anet will still surprise us in the future, with new areas, items, gameplay, arenas, changes.........
It wasn't our last "x-mas surprise"

Actauly, this one seems believable. Half-Life 2 however, that was a differnt story.

But maybe its because I only got one BWE!

I totally relate. 6 BWEs for me. I was so friggin upset too when they withdrew the tentative February release date. But seeing a final fixed release date and they actually made it is pretty, yea surreal. In a way I am waiting, God forbid, for the cancellation of the release but intellectually I know it's gonna be on time and can't wait. Some of us have noted how sad we were when the BWE's ended if that says anything to how moving playing GuildWars has been.

*Edit* Thanks OutcastHawk. It was announced in a thread and Yea I was glad it went to "press." Doesn't change that thinking something could go wrong until I have my CE in my hands and the code goes right through. hahahaha Yea, it's just like that.

By the way, surely you jest that a gaming company would release an inferior product, I mean, full of bugs and not finished? No way! Well I bet they aren't one of those pay per month places, I mean, I can't imagine them charging you for that.

Too late for a delay, Sin. GW went Gold either last night or this morning

I'm certainly waiting anxiously, but I can wait. I'm glad they realized they had to pull back from a Feb. release date. Learned their lesson from SWG. Better to make the game better before release than rush a release and be full of bugs.

I wonder though, about the release. Will it be the same time across all timezones or April 28th no matter where you are. Because if it's April 28th in whatever timezone ArenaNet is in, I wont be able to purchase it until 4pm this thursday, which is just weird.

Just played one BWE and it really left a heavy impact on me. Days are going slower, boredom takes over you, and you're really just paralyzed. Just five more days to go..

exactly what i was thinking.

but somehow, I think I will miss the betas. everyone playing non-stop, doing crazy things because they know it has no real effect on the game, dying in the end due to infernal wurms.... *sigh*... being shut out was the only bad part.

Its run by a server, they flip the switch at 12 PST. You have to wait EXACTLY as long as we do, regardless of what day that puts you on.

Otherwise everyone would switch there character to the earliest time zone country so they can play on the 26th.

EDIT: Merged second message ------------------------------------------

Aha! I too will miss the BWE. Because now that the game will be realeased to the public, we will indeed get the public. And I can tell you the public from witch it stands, consists of a few good men and a day care.

*readies the Answering Bow of Ignorance Destruction*

I urge you all to do your best to educate the new comers and turn them into respectable mature gamers rather than a Counter-Strike 1.6 crowd. I fear that no monthly fees may attract little kids that couldn't get their parent to pay for other games - but monthly fees are no assurance of maturity... look at WoW. Worst crowd I've seen yet (even worse than CS1.6)

From the group of people ive seen so far (outside of PVP) it really doesnt seem this way. Mabey PVP attracts them
If thats the case i should avoid it at all cost I think the instanceing really deminishes this problem. If your being an idiot everyone KNOWS its you because theres only 6 people in a party.

It always seems to me, the closer we get to release, the more exited we become. But of course it will not be the same as the beta weekends as many of you have said. No more crazy dance parties and infernal wurms, but hopefully Anet will throw in some spiffy events during holidays

I will do my best to be nice to the crowd. But some people deserve what they get from me .

We do have an advantage over CS and WoW.

Guild Wars is server side so it isnt hackable (Like CS) and there is a low level cap so they cant just level up higher then every one and pick on the little guys (like WoW and most RPGS)

So that would draw less unrighteous "Ownage", and that draws in less unrighteous owners.

If you get what I mean, the most annoying people are the type that like to think they are better then everybody else. That cant happen much in Guild Wars.

No, you are wrong. I know a RuneScape community that is a very good example. They would plan freak trains (Lined up clones) and partys and all.

Im sure this site will be having planned dance partys and all that good stuff. Am I right mods?

And AenaNet will most likely pull surprise attacks or holiday events. Am I right devs?

hahaha... I remember my RuneScape days... I hate that game now... But there were some fun moments. The only reason the freak trains worked was cause the game was consistant rather than instanced. People would just freak train for 20 minutes across the entire (small) map.

I used to play runescape . Its acually the first MMORPG i played and got me into all the online gaming. If you right about planned dance parties and other goods, it just makes me even more excited!

You guys don't be reminding me about rune. I got 1500+ cowhides to process for my crafting, I need level 70 to craft diamond necklaces so I can cast level 57 enchantment on them. The power necklaces are great for the freebie players. hahahah It's been about 2 months since I cranked up my account, level 79. Falling asleep chopping yews, well, until the random event of having your frigging axe head fly off! rolfmao. Oh what fun I am gonna miss---not!

Oh and since when is harpooning just holding a harpoon in the water? hahahahah

Anyone who really like PK, should try conqueronline. Only one place you can't pk, the market. Everywhere else his PK heaven, and whoever is reborn first (ancient china setting) basically owns everyone else if they are a Trojan style warrior. Another game I will not miss with it's starcraftesque graphics.

My life doesn't exist until GW comes out. All I do is troll the forums looking for comfort and distraction. The happy part is that when GW comes out, my life will exist in 3-strip Technicolor. Won't that be grand.
