The 'quest' you're referring to is the Nolani mission. Once you finish the Nolani mission (with Prince Rurik) you will arrive at Yak's bend.
I got there accidentally while on the Althea's Ashes quest with some other players, and we decided to mop up the area. We found our way to the Vale, went through it, and wound up in Yak's Bend with 3 finished missions. It was a great journey. Every party member leveled up in the quest, and I started out at an early level 12.

Do the co-op mission at Ascalon.
Then the co-op at Fort Ranik.
Then the co-op at Frontier Gate.
Then the co-op at the Ruins.
Then the co-op at Nolani.
Bingo, your at Yaks bend.
Their not all that hard, just time consuming.

its not a cooop mission..you find grazden the protecter at the remains of Ashford and do his quests, then the third one you do the reward will have resurrection in it.

Following your advice and got me my Ressurection spell (and even got to test it today more than once too! :P). And from my experience, after doing it myself, I'd advice any monk who like me was unabled to find/get Ressurection pre-searing to do the three quests Grazden is offering, they are very easy, and Ressurect is always handy in missions. Thanks again for pointing that out Arri
As for Yak's Bend, I had other arrangements to make there and decided to give the road trip another try. Got up to Nolani on foot before I logged off, and it was mucho fun, I'd recommend everyone doing it just for the hell of it. As for the missions, I'm only on the third atm, but will have to get back to them once my journey to Yak's Bend is over [soon! soon!]

Man, the journey to Yak's bend is very arduous. I don't think I'll ever forget the plight of 3 guild members and I, as we take strides towards our goal of Lyon's Arch. Friday night we spend nearly 3 hours going from AC to the Nolari Academy. It was a great run, but man, we were really drained after it.

I can imagine the physical drain you had going that distance, and I can also imagine the tough time you had with low-level armor and weapons taking that trip, unless you did it at higher levels just for a challenge. I may do that once, I get to level 20, it's a great way to gain materials, just make sure you have a couple scavenger kits with you when you go, or you'll run out of space very quickly.

But last night someone told me there's a quest in Piken Square that unlocks Yak's Bend and allows you to travel there on the map. Could anyone direct me to where I can find some information regarding this quest?
Thanks

If what you want is the resurrection skill then if you do the re-inforcements quest in Ascalon then after you leave the recruits then go north from there, then through the tar pits, and you will finally get to Piken Square. You can also buy the Restore Life skill from Grendich Courthouse if you are willing to explore.
If you just want to reach Yak's Bend then do the missions and you will end up in Yak's Bend at some point.

Yup, I made it to yaks bend solo actually, played all day yesterday and made it there. Now, everything after is alot harder. So I use the henchies alot now, lots of fun, they are actually quite good

The missions are harder, better henchmen. Everything in the game gets harder from here on out, but the rewards are alot better, and the loot is better also. You start to find the good weapons, salvaged items and what not. Im having a blast there, unfortunately, im at work now

It's the next town. It has better armor, better skills to be found, and quests with better rewards. It's "Act II" from Diablo if you want to think of it like that.

Thank goodness..
IMHO the drops before yaks bend are thoroughly crappy, I was wondering where everyone was getting their good stuff. Looking forward to getting there tonight. I'm at work now too, so it sucks LOL

Better armour, if you can get the freaking fur squares( warrior ) they seem to be ultra reare, and no one will let anyone know where they drop, and they sell for insanely high prices..hehe

Use an Expert Salvage kit to salvage Charr Hides and you will get Fur. Run the mission "Fort Ranik" over and over to get them easily
