Gods of Guild Wars?
I was reading something that Gaile wrote and iirc, she mentioned each profession having a god.
Elementalist-Rodgort?
Monk-Balthazar
Necromancer-Verata?
Ranger-Melandru
Mesmer-?
Warrior-Bonetti?

In the Temple of the Ages, there's a statue to most of them... I don't remember if they're all there.

Bonetti's an NPC, too, isn't he? I don't think he's a "god" per se. And Rodgort strikes me as more a demon/god figure for Fire ele, not Elementalists as a whole. But what about Dwayna?

I actually wondered if Grenth was the god of Necros also, but I saw most spells with Verata's name on it. Although I THINK I remember people saying you can find Verata in game, like how Bonetti was a lowly level 5 somewhere in Ascalon.
Omg Monks have TWO GODS!!!? Imbalance!? Nerf!

According to a grenth statue within the catacombs in the new ascalon area, grenth is the necro god. Had a nice little story about his first follower attached to it.

How where you suppoused to beat it without dying once for the fire trap? One was already activated, you had to die walking through one, and the other, with a bow, you could get the monster to come, activate it, and kill himself.

I was staring at Lyssa's statue.. I still can't make sense of it. Is it two, three, more people all merged together? The many faces of mesmers?
And well.. following with the trend of patron gods having statues by the trainers in pre-searing, the statue of Dwayna is in the middle of the Abbey, so I would assume that it's Dwayna.. Not sure where that puts Balthazar.. Maybe he's the smiting monk god?

I imagine that Dwayna and Balthazar are something akin to a Yin and Yang. One governs over healing, the other, destruction. As for Lyssa, she is represented as twins. Both of them have one half of their face covered with a mask (a different half for each), presumably to play up the 'deceptive appearances' theme of subversion and trickery that the Mesmer is based on. There's a mural of this, along with most of the other deities, in Ascalon. In Post Searing, you need only go up the steps past Warmaster Tydus, and hang a left, and that's where they'll be.

Hey, one more idea for you, Spooky.
How about making a guide on gods (probably not now, but sometime in the future). Who knows? Maybe you can make up sidestories for them too! (Like holy devotees beseeching quests from their patron dieties, and through short adventures gaining a rough sense of the gods' individual personalities). What's that? Blasphemy? Bah! I call it freedom of speech and expression!

use the arrow keys to walk around the edges of it. you can do this to all 3.
youre supposed to get around them by raising a bone horror and having it trigger the explosion, but that didnt work for me.

You can walk around? I tried that several times, it never worked. I also tried the bone minion thing, never worked either. I think you could use an ally walking through, then you res them, then you walk through and they res you.

I certainly wouldn't mind having a Lore section here. I'm of the mindset that, if a site is going to be as big as this one is, then you might as well just go all the way and be a comprehensive resource for everything.
I suspect it's the kind of thing that would have to wait until the next and final BWE, however. Aside from what I might have taken from the various statue texts, there really isn't a great deal of information in regards to these kind of things. Almost all of the story that is in the game currently, is in relation directly to the matters at hand. The main story, the progression of the missions, etc. Things like lore texts, things that shape the history of the world GW takes place in, I wouldn't expect to see until we're almost out the door .. because they're basically just embellishments.

I actually walked over them a couple of times.
Right in the middle. I even stopped and danced. But that was last BWE.
I thought it was because the traps weren't glowing anymore. But who knows.. I might be a ghost after all..

I believe Balthazar is the warrior god. His statue stands next to the Warrior trainers in the tutorials, and every skill linked to his name seem to be targeted at warriors or at least melee fighters. Dwayna is then the monk god; Elementalists don't seem to have a god (at least no statue could be found that clearly belonged to them), possibly because they worship elements instead of divine powers?
There's one golden statue near Fort Ranik (where you get the basket of apples) that could be the Elementalist god, but I don't recall its name, and it didn't really strike me as very typically Elementalist since it wore skulls around its neck.

Key is to put the trap between you and the devour corpse on the other side, then summon a horror and he will walk across the trap to join you at your side...after they walk across the traps will just be green circles.

Balthazar is the god of War and Fire.
Dwayna seems to be the god of Healing.
Grenth is some sort of Death god.
Rodgort seems to be a demon.
Verata and Bonetti are NPCs, like Galrath.
