Funnest mission ever!
My first post here, so I figured I may as well make it a good one...or something:
So, there we were. In Elona, about to attempt the "impossible" mission that was considered to be one of the hardest, if not the hardest in the game.
Team? 5 Warriors and a monk. Secondaries escape me, but I think 2 or 3 of the warriors were /monk, one was /nec, and i dont remember what the other ones were. Ok, so hardest mission in the game. Unbalanced team. What the hell. So we started.
Mission started off with us not knowing what the heck we were supposed to do..it said to get a crystal...what crystal? we ran around a bit, avoiding some level 20 minotaurs, found a bridge, crossed it, while crossing it, about 10 level 20 minotaurs deciding to attack us. Normal teams woudlve been sluaghtered, but since we all moved to melee range, the minotaurs got stuck on the front of us and we slaughtered them. Cyclone attack was a beautiful thing here.
Anyway, eventually we found teh crystal, and gave it to ghost man. Then he gave us a half hour timer, told us to go into some Forgotten bases (who forgot them anyway? I'll remember them, thats for sure). We decided to go left first, because left isn't right...or something. First group of forgotten we fought decided to come really close to us, then spam earthquake on our melee only asses to the pont where we got knockdown, got up, knockdown, got up, etc. till everyone died but the Monk. Ok, that sucked. Somehow we managed to rez and beat them. Then we worked very slowly to the crystal, got it, and I decided to carry it back to ghost guy. Then we were lost, and couldn't find him. Eventually we did, and we had somewhere in the area of 12 minutes remaining.
Ok, last crystal. We went right, killed a few groups. I used the power of holding Alt to find exactly where the crystal was. We went there, killed a few more groups, and had like 4 more minutes left. Everyone rushed the group, and i grabbed the crystal and ran like hell back. I got about halfway when a patrol decided to patrol where i was and then killed me, we had around 2 minutes left. half the group is dead, but they rush over to where i died anyways, somehow Tyreal (that was his name) manages to grab the crystal and run like I've never seen before. Somehow he makes it to the end with somewhere in the area of 10 seconds left, and we win! WOO! Then in the end cutscene we got to see the Forgotten beat us up while the ghost congratulated us (Bugs are ironic sometimes...or something).
Anyhow, it was good times, and I still can't believe we managed that. Great fun was had by all.

ring of fire and the 30 necro mob spam is my favorite, we brought 3 aoes and still couldn't do it they just wear you health down so the monks eventually dry up and you all die. Seriously groups of 5 all ranged and patrol in a tight space is redic.

I don't think Elona was nearly as fun as Thirsty River
Last Boss
"go for the priest!"
"no, boss heals him too fast, go for boss!"
player 1: I am attacking boss
player 2: I am attacking priest
me: WTF???????

Best one was when you rescue Evennia, because Saidra gives up her life, yet fails to keep the Jade Armour/Mursaat back for more then 2 seconds, and you end up slaughtering them anyways. In short, a NPC who I have up to this point was clueless about just did a "heroic sacrifice" to something that I just came back and killed off in about 15 seconds.
Cheesy unrealism like this always cheer me up
