I had this problem as well. This may sound cheap, but how I coped was by completing a lot of quests but not getting the reward. I had most of my Piken Square and Yak's Bend quests ready to be rewarded, which helped significantly. I was able to get enough points re-juggled to heal and I completed a quest in the underworld for 5k, which gave me plenty of breathing room in refund points.

use skill disruption. as a ranger secondary, you have things like Distracting Shot, Concussive Shot, and Choking Gas available to you.

I took a different approach. I'm a healer, so I figured I'd deny my mirror self my own bread and butter, healing. If you take into account:
1) He does more melee damage than you.
2) He only uses the skills you bring.
3) He may have the wit to chain them logically, but he will not use skills repeatedly.
4) While he may deal more damage than you, he cannot attack if he spends time casting.
You should be able to come up with a pretty clean strategy for smashing him. I was incredibly frustrated with my ascension test, but when a strategy dawned on me, well...it only took one try.

Don't bring healing spells or heal will just heal himself and remember he has Computer logic. Not the creativity and outside the box thinking you do.

I'm of the opinion that people who cannot beat their mirror self without the help of an entire forum, should not be participating in end game content. They need to figure it out, the creative thinking will help them later on, aka "should I bring uber leet (insert damage spell here), or (melee reduction, nullification spell), against these mobs that do 200 melee damage?"

I am told that mirror self won't use healing breeze on himself, but how I did it was I loaded up on negative energy regen enchantments, so my mirrored self had 0 energy regen. Then I used my wand to beat him down. If you need heals use divine boon repeatedly as a pseudo heal, he won't use it as a heal since its an enchantment, he'll cast it only once.
