Black Dye Scam
Ok. I know there is a Sticky Scam thread here, but it's so long i thought it best to create this thread as a new one.
There are people Duping Black Dye and selling it for 1-2k in game at the moment. I have proof of this and lots of piccies of the conversation i had with the guy who told me all about, and how it's done.
How stupid does he feel now.
I thought something was a bit off when this guy was selling 10 Black dyes all for 1k each. In all my time of playing i have only ever found 1 black dye and that is in Storage when i can decide what to do with it.
Apparently the dye just disappears after 1-2 days.
It's all been reported to GW support and they are looking into it.
It looks like the Cheats never know when to stop spoiling everyone elses fun.

That's a rather interesting scam. I'd like to know how he pulled that one off.

No, because I'd honestly like to know. I'm one of the people that see and hear about quite interesting things people have done and want to know HOW they done it. The same attitude applies to watching magicians perform aswell.

Maybe you would like it to be BS to hide any Scamming or cheating you may be getting up to.
For your info this is not BS and i'm not Trolling.
I have had it confirmed from another player too who said exactly the same thing. The guy had 10 black dye selling for 1k each. Who in this game has ever had 10 black dye from drops. I've only ever got one and my whole guild maybe 1 or 2 others.
Also, he offered that he could get me another 10 black dye for 1k each.
I feel sorry for the guy who bought all 10 for 10k.
And if you think it's BS, go and buy the black dye and find out for yourself.

You might want to try farming pre-searing.
(Then again you might not want to, as it's more productive to farm cash in the endgame and buy your dye)

... I think professor plum did it in the drawing room with the rolling pin!!!
now that I've poked my fun (and probably confused those players who are likely at least a generation younger than me) I have to agree with Sekkira (shredder?), I wouldn't be very likely to try this, the risk is far too great, but I am interested how they do it. I'm the most interested in how and why the ink will disappear in 2-3 days time.

Black Dye is not that rare, between my 2 characters i got 4 of em 3 with one and 1 with another just by doing quests in Pre Srearing, i am sure if i stayed there and just farmed mobs for day or 2 i could get 10 easily.
If someone was doing something illigal they would not admit to it just cause u ask em, what are u god? use commmon sense. not only they admitted it they told u how to do it! why? so u dont buy their dye and just haxxor some of your own? then take their business from them by selling your own dyes? yeah that makes a lot of sense dude.

I'm just the messenger. And to have it confirmed by several people exactly the same thing, then what do you take me for.
I'm not stupid and i use common sense. Reason i didn't buy it. 10 Black dye for 1k each. That is giving it away.
As far as I'm concerned, i let you guys know that it's out there. And i reported it to GW. If there is a Scam there, GW will find it and resolve.
Don't shoot me down for being a messenger. And i thought this was going to be a civilized Post. But no, there are still imature people here too.

several people confirmed what? that they were also cheating?
Also, there is no reason to post something like this here, you reported it and thats it. Telling people that it's possible will just make em want to figure out how it's done thus encouraging cheating.
I am not saying u are lying(though u might be) what i am saying is they were probably selling 10 dyes or whatever and u were like "WOW DUDE HOW DID U GET ALL THAT L33T DYE!" and guy just told u he is a uber haxxor cause he was bored and was just playing with u, and u beling so gullable believed him.

O_o That made no sense. He was talking about something completely different and you interpreted it as him 'defending' his GW character. That was just purely a post out of spite and even after me posting two things that were relevent to this thread, which I've already had someone back me up over, you seem to be only posting out of some sudden desire to incite an argument.
You want to start an argument, take your own advice and argue with the idiots around you outside. Or perhaps the reason you're using the internet to do such is because you don't have the self esteem to even try.

I think the guy was feeding you BS too... and I also feel for your plight against the barbarian-geeks who wish to trounce on your moment of divine justice. I'm not taking the piss, I get the same feeling too. It seems sometimes that those you would expect to take your side the most are the ones who choose instead to jab little daggers into your ribs.
But you gotta have tough ribs if you're going to be social with socially disfunctional people. It all comes down to this: It matters not two poops whether or not we believe you. If we don't and you're right we are the only ones who suffer and you walk off knowing you did your best. When people (and I know there are some here like this) choose to flame you because you say something that wastes their valuable eyespace or whatever, you have to take it in stride and look for a better thread.
Try suggesting mounts to people...
