I'm confused by the wording in the update to B Aura

Does this mean that Balthazar's Aura cast upon one ally from multiple monks stacks in damage? How do you get multiple copies of the same enchantment on one target?

I thought the problem was multiple people ,each with the enchantment could stack their damage.

* Fixed issue with Balthazar's Aura skill, so that when multiple copies of the buff are cast on the same ally, only the most powerful is active.

WOHOO!!!!

I agree. I'm impressed with the fact that they actually step in to help with problematic issues... I'm used to game creators who make in-game characters under the pretense of "testing" combinations/new weapons/skills, etc and spend their days pwning average players, exploiting bugs and setting themselves up as leaders of competitive clans, haha... GW has been a far cry from the norm for me, and I love it.

There are plenty of illegal things that harm nobody and which I should be able to smoke... erm... um... do, in the privacy of my own home. People who enjoy gambling should be more than welcome to do as you just described and anyone who complains of being cheated... you went of your own volition. I do believe that public gambling was killed because of advertising spam.

A simple chat gambling channel (similar to the trade one) would have ended the gambling spam just as quickly as the oppressive heavy handed approach taken instead.

Doesn't work since they would flood other channels like trade chat in Local...

It wouldn't have ended it because everyone would ignore the casino channel and spammers would have to resort to public channel.

I think killing casinos is a great thing. All I saw when I went to Lion's Arch were casino spam and spam from people who got ripped off. Something like this:

Scammer: *SCAMMER'S CASINO* 10K BETS MINIMUM!!!
Newbie: SCAMMER RIPPED ME OFF!!! HE TOOK MY MONEY AND RAN!
Scammer: DON'T LISTEN TO NEWBIE, HE'S LYING! COME PLAY MY CASINO! ONLY 10K TO START!

Exactly...

Good. I personally don't care if you are dumb enough to risk your own money on a player run casino, just take it outside in your own personal world, where it doesn't affect me at all.

Great job yet again by the DEVs.

Though I will say that I hope they do impliment some sort of NPC-in game run casino games, where you know you are not getting ripped off. The odds may be against you, but at least you don't have to worry about someone taking the money and running, and WOULD be a decent gold sink, I think.

Actually it might not stop the spam...

They will still spam and then when the get a customer they go outside.

But there is still spam till that customer comes to play.....

That's what I was thinking too. It would also have put player casinos out of business...

To be honest, I never saw any of those player-run casinos anyway. I saw a few people rolling, but never spamming for casinos or anything remotely like that. Did they tend to stick to certain places or something?

The worst place for it was always LA, no matter what district you selected to be in. On any given day if you went there you'd see numerous casinos, with new ones being added on a daily basis. A bit less an issue in the smaller outposts, or further in the game in towns like Droknars ( which has it's own version of annoying spam via the immature *your mom ____ * arguments that rage there on a daily basis between silly 14 yr old boys )

Did anyone actually notice a difference in Majesty's Rest? I was in there before and after and did not notice any difference. I know it stated 'minor' balance changes, but I couldn't see anything different.

Don't bother me either way, cuz I never gamble in GW or EQ, but...

I don't see how the /roll change kills casino's. Seems like you could just group with your gambling partners and do your dirty work in the privacy of your own instanced zone.

If I were "The Powers That Be" I would do things a little differently I think.

First I would make all sorts of silly little "Rule Sets" for the game. These rule sets would be many in number and known only by the server it's self...

For Example... If you log in and use the word "Casino" or "Gamble" and then people start using the /roll command in your general area... BOOM! A lighting bolt drops from the sky killing you instantly.

I think you get the point. =P

That is the point casinos in and of themselves were not shut down they now just have to go into an instance where they wont spam the town boards - great idea in my opinion

Yes, because we all know the "Trade" channel has managed to keep trade spam out of "All".
