Drop rates decreasing?
Is it just me or are the drop rates diminishing since the last update or two? I've soloed, gone with henchmen, and partied with humans, and it doesn't really seem to matter where I am at, but nothing ever seems to get dropped aside from a little gold. Anyone else experiencing this?
Also, since you can now buy runes have they totally been removed from salvaging armor?

In my experience, the drop rates have been totally fubar'ed, however other people report that they still get "hordes" of golds and purples, although that's probably either sheer exxageration or just plain "Let's not say anything bad about Anet" mentality.
If I spend an evening fighting in the Crystal Desert now, I'll get, MAYBE, two rows of my pack full of predominantly white items. That's around 500 gold for an evening of hacking level 22 monsters.
Good luck trying to find all those items that are required for collectors now...
It's also been determined that if you keep fighting the same type of monster over, they will eventually stop dropping items ALTOGETHER. This prevents farming, but how this eliminates the grinding part of the game is a very good question. In my opinion, it only forces people to grind 500 times more.
You can still get runes from armor, and you still have to find them in armor to "unlock" them for your PvP character. The ones you buy are just for wearing, not for unlocking purposes.

I noticed something yesterday for sure. I spent a good four or five hours doing quests from various places and received < 6 blue, 1 purple and 0 gold item drops. A lot of gold coin drops, but hardly any items better than white or salvage pieces.
One day isn't really long enough to pass judgement, so we'll see what happens when I log on tonight.

I've definitely noticed an alarmingly sharp decrease in drops. Over the past few weeks they seem to be trickling down to next to nothing: last Friday I was out with a 4-person party doing Ancient Secrets and I got one, count it one, item drop. And it was white.
Soloing, I see a lot of crap common items and some gold, but things definitely seem paltry now.

Used to be that your packs were always loaded...now it's not the case. I travelled from Lion's Arch to Beetletun to Divinity Coast last night and my first pack didn't even get filled. It was my first run through the area as well....

Same here Kuku Monk. I fought my way from Druid's Overlook to Quarrel Falls to Ventari's Refuge and might have picked up a backpack full of stuff. Maybe. I doubt it though. It was my first time travelling through all of those areas as well.
