Only just at the point of doing the villainy quest in GW, well, we didn;t manage it, had a party of 17s mostly, and a level 20 monk, but 2 people left half way through i think, so it didn't make it easy, but by the end we were dying over and over again.. a party of 4 with 60% death penalty makes the quest hard needless to say we gave up

Believe me i hated grinding in all the morpgs that i had mentioned i played, this game is nice for just that no grinding unless you choose to grind, if u dont want to grind you can do missions unlock skills pvp, a-net dosent give you that choice now, its there way(which was stated is imo the easy way), and yes i understand people like the game like this and are happy, but at least have the option for people who want to farm, it dosent make it unfair or anything, anyone can go make a e/mo or mo/w and go farm for runes or cash for there granite armor so they can be different, believe me it takes skill as an elementalist to try to take 8 mobs out,if i mess up 1 spell or dont land an aoe in right spot or catch aggro im dead so neway im done talking about this i guess ill just keep on making lvl 20's deleting them (for the lack of more toon slots) and repeat until this game just becomes another box at my desk that collects dust

Everyone finds themselves eventually partied with a guy like Leeroy Nothing like drawing a little aggro from 20 dragons to make your party feel pain.

This forum is filled with the biggest Fanboi's I have ever seen. If this game was "perfect" then every RPG player would be here playing it, but most of them are not. Beleive it or not WoW and EQ still have a bigger fanbase. There are tons of people who like to grind and farm, does that make them stupid.....not IMO, they just enjoy something different than I do. It seems like in these forums anytime anybody has something negative to say about GW's everyone automatically says "OMG go play EQ2 you no-talent idiot". I disagree with the original post but it is his opinion and he is entitled to it.

Well - you fail to see one thing:
1. Farming runes is still a good business - just e.g. the minor ones have REALISTIC prices now.
2. The trader has only the runes the players sell him/her - it's not as if everybody could get a Rune of Superior Vigor without players selling them
3. The prices for the runes are dynamic - so all in all the trader works EXACTLY in the same way as a mediator between the rune-sellers and rune-buyers. People sell the runes they don't need and other people buy the runes they need without having to stand in towns for hours and looking for the best seller (the trader is like an auctioning system)
4. The same applies to rare crafting material traders
5. You still need UNIDENTIFIED runes to unlock anything in the game.
It's funny - I mean, how many times has anybody actually gone farming to find ONE specific rune he needed at that time? It was a pure waste of time! You've gone rune-farming to make a lot of money (which is still possible) and BUY yourself the runes you've needed for the runes you've farmed. I don't see how ANYTHING changed. I'm VERY happy with the update. At least NOW we will see how much each rune is worth according to its demand and the people who will want to unlock sth./get their runes themselves, will still farm them. (Have you checked the rune prices? They're as high as if you had bought them off players - btw. for some farmers the rune trader will be a blessing - you will always have a "kind-of-buyer" who will be willing to buy the runes off you for a decent price)

Game getting to easy, I disagree. The path to Galrath is insanely hard, but can be done. Did it with a party of 8, most above level 15. Some people died and fortunately no one left and completed the quest. The same goes to the path to Dunes. Some areas, there is just too much enemies.

You cannot just any rune from the vendor, you have to had unlocked them to buy it from the vendor. So if you still want that superior rune and you haven't unlocked them I am afraid you going to have to ask in the trade channel.

Ehm - I agree that 4000xp for Galrathare a bit steep but how does it make the game any easier? I was lvl20 when I made the quest (with ALL 3 of my lvl20 chars) so this was just a quest for some XP towards a skill point. And sooner or later you will be lvl20 and you will have to get the XP somewhere - 4000xp won't be much for you then.
I don't understand how the game got any easier. Could someone enlighten me?
@silentcd - you're wrong - you can actually get ANY rune off the trader providing it's on stock (read: someone has sold one to the trader)
I wonder why pple keep telling weird theories instead of entering the GW world again and see thathe rune business is thriving just as it did before. Pple are seeling runes - some have got cheaper, other got more expensive - in the end it doesn't really matter.

Yes you can buy ALL the runes in the world as long as the trader has them on stock. Look at your PvP char creation sreen, look at the eq option and find a rune that you haen't unlocked yet. Then log on with any PvE char and go to the trader and try to buy them rune - I can tell you - you WILL be able to do that. Checked it on some Minor/Major and Sup runes.

What a great example you must set for your 2 year old son. Letting a game get you so flummuxed. Relax, take a night off from farming and go play with your boy.

I didn't notice the Rune Trader until a friend mentioned it to me. I think it's a great Idea because there were a lot of people asking stupidly high prices for the runes. Now with the trader there is at least some kind of a price control on the runes people are selling. And BTW now if I want to sell off all the Runes I have stashed away I can. I have one character with 24 runes on her! Been hording them "incase" I wanted to make a character that could use them. Thats one basically wasted character that I could play insted of using her as a mule. When you can only have four characters on an account thats a big waste to use one as a mule! ...................now what do I do with all the weapons upgrades I have stashed away...................

Way to tired to read the whole thread, and this will fall on deaf ears but oh well.
At the end of the day, it is Anets game, they know how to make games better than us, they will do what they can for the greater good of the game, though some people will get pissed off.
So you can either have faith in Anet, that they will tweak and refine the game to make it as enjoyable as possible, or you can whine without effect against it, and begrudingly still play it even though you complain about it.
Overall, if you are having fun, play it, if anything Anet does displeases you to the extent you are no longer having fun, then simply stop playing.
Fun > all. The End.

i think taking skills off of dead bosses ruins the flavor a bit...
why couldn't they just have hardwired it so that the bosses use their elite skills a bit more?
otherwise, i think the changes they've made have been mostly good.
the rune trade is a good idea -- you could have bought runes off of players anyway.. the trader helps keep prices reasonable.
doing infusion runs was truely the definition of grind -- it would have been much better if they had originally had 5 different quests for infusion, one for each piece of armor...
by the way, anyone else did that mursaat mission without infusing first?
you'll die a bunch, but it's really not that hard.

But why should you? It SO much easier with infused armor. =)
And I disagree on the SoC issue - of course it's not good at all that you can't capture skills from "end-bosses", but after all it seems a bit more logical to me. E.g. While the SoC was working the old way you really had to find an organised party (read: consisting of guildmates) maybe with just a few henchmen. Basically the tactic of capturing skills meant to kill everything AROUND the boss and then waiting for the boss to use a certain skill when he was alone. This seemed a bit odd to me - I mean - this wasn't DIFFICULT - this was very, VERY strange - this keeping a boss artificially alive. And I couldn't stress how annoying it was with the mission-bosses when your party killed them before you could capture the skill - that was true grinding too. I'm happy now with the way it works - you get your skill for DEFEATING a boss - and killing him and the hordes of monsters around him usually more than makes up for a challenge - as well as getting to him in the first place. I captured the skills the old way with my Mesmer and Monk and now I'm capturing them the new way with my Warrior - did it get any easier? For the Warrior for sure (because of all the stances being almost impossible to capture), but for all the other professions it stayed more or less at the same difiiculty level.

As said in above post the stances were impossible to know wether or not they were cast..So a Warrior had to sit back and simply spam SoC till he was lucky enough to get it.
I say the stances were the main reason why you now get skills off of dead bosses.

I concur with Theus. It is more balanced to capture now and it makes more sense.
They should beef up the elite skill bosses a bit. Focused fire on them still drops them pretty quick. Make killing them, the capture pre-requisite, alot more difficult.
On the subject of infusion runs. They were just that, runs. Running through and ignoring all monsters. That is still the case now unfortunately. Now why would anyone want to experience that nonsense five times in a row?
The devs are listening, give them a chance. This is our game. They are just working through us. Nothing they do is irrepairable, nor do we need to wait 1.5 years for fixes.
Constructive criticizm in the Sanitarium is the way to go
Cheers
