Default GW already dying off?

I have noticed over last few days to week less & less people around, if I had to make a guess % I would say 20-30% less people about.

I am based in Australia so yes my play time is usually USA bed time, but I have played since GW was release world wide, and that was like 2 months ago and just this last week ive noticed alot less people about.

I only have 1 assumption for why this is, Tombs mission, its VERY HARD to get a group that can survive the first round let alone get all the way through, and everyday you don't make it ELITE teams are getting better.

I was in a almost perfect group made it through all the challenges and was 1 challenge away from getting to HoH, soon as the map started and other team names poped up - we saw Sissy Boys as one of the oposition, first thought from everyone was they will win we will lose.

Well we didnt ever get to see em some asian group killed us real quick. Which was weird as we killed alloposition upto that point pretty fast and easy, and to be killed so fast in final challenge was so depressing.

SO unless you in a guild group who know each others strengths & weakness's and unless yoru team is perfectly setup ie (smite group - or shutdown group) you havent got a chance.

I have been trying to get to HoH from Tombs since week one of GW and never have made it, I have made 3 lvl 20's now my main now is a healing monk, and I do a real good job but still never have made it.

Thats why I think people are either leaving or playing far less, because you don't stand a chance in Tombs - I can't even begin to contemplate how hard HoH is if Tombs is so hard to get through.

Holy you racist , the koreans are no better or worse than us, they simply plan more, they don't play any more than the hardcore gamers from the states, theres simply more of them
there are no cheats as far as I know there are macros but there aren't any programs smart enough to be able to predict a randomly generated team of people who make mistakes and do things quite randomly

As for less people at any given time yes, but only because people aren't spending every minute of thier spare time, I do know quite a few who stopped playing altogether but they stopped a month ago or so, most everyone else simply plays less since theres not enough to do, there needs to be an objective beyond the hoh and the end of the game . . . customizing guild halls or even creating your own lot somehow that you could customize

Guild halls should have hang out spots where only your guild can enter and just chat...

Guild storage.

Comps

Expansion soon would help.

More advertisment?

I know plenty of people who are geting the game FOR summer..... exam time remember!!!

Yes theres less people, but thats hardly a surprise. You can only do so much and then the game becomes major boreing.Lack of content major nerfs every time you turn around etc.I am sure this is all part of ANs battle plan, sell a ton of games then annoy the PvE crowd into leaving.Saves a lot of money on bandwidth, and theres a good chance most will return with the next expansion. There will remain a hardcore group who lack the time to play a lot,and the 12 year old PvP crowd. Acctually its pretty shrewd on ANs part.

you can't honestly believe that....there are hacks for this game...whether or not they are publicly available I don't know.

of course there are hacks for this game (try and name a single game that doesnt have at least one) But I think Gbuslayer was more upset that the previous poster implied that the Koreans only win due to hacks.

Lol, Although it's probably the same for us, it certainly doesn't help that you can't pronounce the name of the Korean you're trying to attack.

However, if you take into account 2 things.

1. The technology in Korea is a heck of a lot less than in America and Europe, computer wise, and

2. Koreans do the exact same thing's that we do (Either have guild member pvp battles, teamspeak battles, or random group battles), and we get destroyed by them

I honestly think that Korean's do cheat. On one occasion I was attacking an enemy and literally none of my skills had their effect take place on the enemy. I'm not being racist, it's just an incredibly unfortunate thing that exists in the game.

On a side note, the 4 vs 4 arenas needs a HoH style thing, and we need to introduce 1v1 arenas.

define 'no effect on the enemy'... there's probably some skill combo being used there... obsidian flesh, spellbreaker etc.

I can quite honestly say that Korean players do not cheat. What I can say is that Korea has a huge gaming culture and it can end up with a lot of pressure on Korean players to win, and as such they practice far more than any of us would consider healthy and they really do use some great builds. They also have a great sense of teamwork, something i find lacking in US and EU teams.

Have ANY of you been to Korea? Don't start assuming you know what Korean gaming is all about until you've been there, please.

Korean gaming is a big time entertainment industry there. Did you know that good PC players in Korea get star status? I mean, they are treated like Hollywood stars, with endorsements and paychecks. Yes, they get paid! Much like superstar athletes we have here in America. They actually get paid to play a game. That is why they can spend a lot of their time planning strategy, customizing their characters, etc. And GW is NOT the only online game they are good at.

So there, now you know.

The game has been out for what, like a month? And already people are saying its dying out?

When you get to high leveled areas, yeah it looks pretty empty, but take a trip back to pre-searing or early post-searing Ascalon and you'll see the game still has thousands of new players starting out. It's not dead yet by a long shot.

As for the Koreans, if they realy were cheating so much, they'd probably have favor all the frickin' time. But in reality US and Korea are pretty much neck and neck at holding favor. I think its just sour grapes on the losers part, blaming it on cheats instead of their lack of skill.

I still the same amount of people playing Guild Wars since the first day it was release until now. Some districts are full with players while others are less. But there's a lot of players though.

Most of the time I see America and Korea holding the favors. Europe is the weak link. I hardly see Europe with the favors.

yeah true it is frustrating to loose but it just a game lets remind ourselfs that. i am too getint pretty bored beacuase not enough content was put into game, which you could have known from starty beacouse many magazines rated this as a pvp game. but this is a frustrating pvp game beacouse not many of us will always want to do battle at tombs. also most of the time while your trying to do battle you are either picked or never picked depending on your class, which i found ranger wer not getting chosen enough. so in a way we are being outcasted in a game which is funny, and koreans do kick our ass sometimes but couse i agree they do have better teamwork than most of us. and as for the new areas i think they will be kinda if not imposible for most people to make it there. since you have to go true lomars pass, into camp rankor in order to access areas. hey is ther another way to get to camp rankor it seams you can get there true draknor forge?

What he said. I truly respect the Koreans - they have an 1337 gaming culture (did you know at one stage they had pictures of Starcraft characters to help sell Cheetos over there?). Just because they beat you doesn't mean they cheat. They've just got more competent gamers over there plus you're probably often against a guild (and a guild from any nation TENDS to be slightly better than a PUG group - although the PUG groups I've been in have managed to almost beat a couple ).

just what i was gonna say, koreans are prolly the most fanatical gamers world wide. the gamer ration is like 1:1!!!! The spend TONS of time in internet game cafes and since they pay i am sure they dont intend to lose! lol

also, i played with some koreans, they do stratagize b4 every battle, and above al excercise PATIENCE!!! something that 1% of americans actually have. I love my USA but we have no patience, drive our roads, wait in a line of 5 or more ppl at mcdonalds and u know what i mean.

They just need good american leaders out there. AND DO WHAT THEY SAY!!!

PS.
if you ever want to game to get to the HoH then get both TS and Ventrillo.

I think you should wait until you have an ascended character before you comment on how much content is in this game.

Anyway, I work at an EB Games in the evening, and today I sold a copy of BF2 to almost everyone I sold a copy of Guild Wars a month and a half ago. Its the same group of people over and over, that always move on to the next "hot thing". I'll probably pick up BF2 in a month or two so don't get me wrong, but the majority of these people are idiots, and its good that they are moving on. Hopefully the crowd will thin out nicely.
