Funny? Ha ha? Seems to me you're trying to 'troll' 'put-down' others with your humour. I'd sure love to see you show some of that humour IRL. Great thing the internet is though, children can hide behind a PC and be 'funny'. ( I'm classifying you in the 'children ranks' because I, myself, do not know many adults who use such sarcasm in ways you do (on the internet), unless they're trying to be 'the cool kid' on the internet )
( No, this is not one of those posts where ' If I met you IRL, I'd beat you up '. Just briefing what my father told me, when I got 'funny' towards him. )
*Walks away. Definately not worth the waste of forum space, plus this will be locked soon enough, due to all the trolling.*

Technically you would be right about the 1.5k armor. I'll give you that.

GW is just a plain ol' RPG you would normally play by yourself in a SP mode except you have the ability to co-op over the net (speaking of PvE only since that's the only mode that interests me). Instead of your buddy sitting on the couch next to you watching you play FFVII you can both play at the same time. Essentially the core premise of PvE is the same thing. Once you reach the end of a SP RPG and watch the last cutscene you usually stop playing because you've done everything! At least I do anyway.

May I ask, what's the point in ending majority of your posts with a troll'ish sarcastic ( In general - Asshole ) remarks? For kicks? Oh, I forgot... +1!

I'm sorry, I didn't realize the majority of people playing the game were PvP only. In my case, I plan on using my PvE characters to PvP. In this case, it certainly does achieve what ANet had planned it to. And since most runes cost 120g these days, why not buy them everytime you make a PvP only character if you haven't yet unlocked the ones you require? Seems like ANet kinda knows what they're doing, from my point of view.
To answer your question, I give what I get, my friend. And just an FYI, taking a shot at someone while trying to apologize to them doesn't really work. Just so you know.

in all the RPG's I have played I have never been max just by playing the game when I got to the end. and I highly doubt you have either... just thinking of all the FF games I have played lol. hmm maybe I should drag out 7 for old times.. 8)
|
neither have i.
it was always the unattainable goal in d2 to max out your character and get all the items you needed for a specific character build.
problems arose because:
1) it took so fricking long to get to lvl 99
2) the chance of getting all the items you wanted is so small that if more people knew the odds, they probably wouldnt bother trying to get them.
3) by the time you got all the items/levels you needed someone else would come up with a different character build that would completely destroy your level 99 character at lvl 45 and you would have to start again.
pad. when you get to the end of online rpgs. that really is the end.
what alot of online rpgs do is extend or draw out their lifespan by making this process of coming up with a decent character build and levelling up and getting the armour/weapons you want - essentially making your character 'complete' - they take that process and stretch it out so it takes like, forever to achieve. this way you will always be playing that game. d2 addiction should be in a medical dictionary as a serious ailment that you can suffer from.
i think for pve to really be an enjoyable experience it needs to get out of this gaming model. i dont think thats something that can be fixed with patches. it would require a whole rethink as to why people play online rpgs (do you spend as much time having fun playing GW as you do preparing to have fun?)
in GW pve, most of the time i spend in game is preparing my character or completing it in some way. completing an armour set. or a weapon. or a skill combo. or something. im not sure if i find the actual process of aquiring these things fun at all. often the process is quite tedious and demeaning (the grind to unlock runes for your pvp character for example).

I haven't read the entire topic here, but eh.
For anyone who's defending the "We're removing farming" thing, it makes no sense. Sure, it would if you actually made enough money to buy ANYTHING remotely good. I'm willing to bet that if someone just ran through the game doing all the missions and some quests, they'd have less than 10k by the time they finished. Is 10k enough to buy ANYTHING good? No.
Maybe if they rewarded missions and quests with stuff. Finish Thunderhead Keep, unlock a superior vigor. This will obviously kill the market, but it would solve the problem of vigor/absorb inflation once and for all.

Sure, it would achieve what they planned to do, IF you plan to use a PvE character. I'm sorry also, I didn't realize the majority of people in PvP were RPG characters, my bad.
What if you plan to try a new character for PvP reasons, are you going to start a new PvE character just to PvP? Who's actually going to spend 1 platinum++ on 1 superior rune, or 75 platinum++ on 1 superior Vigor rune just to use on a custom PvP character? What if you don't like the character?
You give what you get? Oh, I must be blind then. These comments by you were provoked?

The rest I can actually say, you were provoked into being a smart ass. As for the above, I can't see the need for your 'humour' .
As for taking a shot and apologizing. I was playing your hand, being the sarcastic smartass.

Back on the topic...
Yeah, I definately think there should be a set price for money you get by selling to rune traders. Just yesterday I was lucky to find 2 superior runes, and several minors...all of them sold for no more than 35g. Oh joy. I'd rather have more crafting materials.

The 1st part. I was just playing the hand you dealt me.
The 2nd part, as I said. Was a mistake, I mis-read and got names confused.
My point is, at the start of this thread. Your 'humour' was unprovoked. Understand, or shall I make it more simple for you? ( Again, playing the hand you dealt me )
I'll seriously back off this thread now, just had to prove my point with a bit of humour.

To make the game more apealling to the over lvl20+ PVE is make future missions harder and the quests harder with a larger Gold payout. More quests around the Ring of Fire. That would shut me up for a few days.
The last three quests were all soloed in les than 10 mins a time. Or was that to fast and I should have walked slowly and admired the view and maybe took a few beers with me and strecthed it out to 20mins a quest.
Give us more and shut us up. And make selling Superiors to the trader worth it

Well I'm glad to see that you think it's ok if someone else does it first. Please look through my posting history and you will find the answers you seek. Perhaps then your mature viewpoint can understand my childish antics. You see, my memory happens to be longer than a single thread.
Enjoy!

Why would you need a superior vigor rune if you were just trying out a new build? Can't you get a feel for it without the extra few HP that a minor or major wouldn't provide?

Me too ... on the wednesday they came out ... we happened to be at the ToA and finished that in like 3 or 4 minutes with a full group...

That quest was a joke. They may as well of put it just outside the exit to the ToA. I popped out and was back before the team left for UW I dont even think they noticed I had gone.

this has nothing to do with the RPG OR FPS....but...Joint ops escalation was a FPS game I was playing.... NOVALOGIC STILL hasnt patched the game...its been out for 8 months.....I am just thrilled that the devs..TAKE THE TIME...and TALK TO THE CUSTOMERS....and EXPLAIN what they are doing here at GW. AND YES...patch once a week or every two. Be happy....this is a good game...
oh ya...In FPS...im moving to bf2....novalogic has lost yet another customer.

IMHO the rune trader could have been a good idea but it turned out to be daft. It made many PvE'ers angry and didn't do anything for PvP'ers.
PvPers would like to buy un-id'd armor or runes for the unlocking. So the rune trader does nothing for them. The rune trader upsets PvE players.
Some people like the trader because runes are cheaper and they can get them quickly. As a PvPer I'd say allowing the trader to sell un-id'd armor and runes is ok, but I don't mind if they go completely because we will soon be able to unlock runes in PvP and I see no reason for the PvE people to be made unhappy for no reason.
However, compare the rune trader and players who sell weapons and mods to the sigil trader. The sigil trader sells the sigils always under 100k, while players sell weapons and mods for over 100k. Also PvEers can buy everything they need from the traders now, while PvPers still cannot buy un-id'd armor/runes unless it's from a player.
