She gets group invitations around 10 seconds after entering a mission outpost...
Maybe another reason why many people seem to quit their monks is the amount of abuse monk players often receive...it can be really bad at times...

It takes you 10 seconds to get an invite, wow thats a long time.
Anyways, I have been fairly lucky with my groups not flaming me when they die with a couple of exceptions, most notably a ranger who thought enrgy recharged faster on monks than anything else. I have mostly moved on to the HoH but constantly get people whispering me asking for help which if I am not busy I do. I still have not seen the excess of monks and I do have some low level characters which I play from time to time.
If anyone needs help just ask me. I am on alot.

Sure, they help ALOT when it comes to tight situations. I just find that all of these monks are unneccisary. Has anyone else noticed that?

Hmm if people are asking for 1 to 2 monks how can that be overpopulation? Early in the game you will see more monks then later. You will see a noticle drop somewhere around Sanctum Cay then it seems like once you hit Amnoon Oasis they all but dry up (more than likely I agree with an earlier poster who surmised that once they reach 20 and hit the desert, they become farming machines).
I guess I can't seem them as unnecessary either, I don't see a monk as being the only way to survive (until end game missions maybe) but rather having a well balanced team as more important and folks knowing what they are doing.

Isaacp -- Maybe I didn't write my last post right. The point was that someone entered the mission as soon as I'd entered their party. I was not given time to change my skill bar.
And if you were in a party that rushed into the HoH without checking everyone was ready properly first, you'd have noone to blame but yourself

as an extra, I am a ele/mo and a mo/me and I always carry a bow on both characters because a bow has more range than anything else. this allows me to pull for my henchmen and for real parties if a ranger is absent.
and it helps greatly on the ring of fire mission to have a ranger present since you need good range for some of the more frustrating targets, in fact I might even recommend a few rangers.

You don't need 3 monks. You only need 2. A healer and a protection monk. Monks cannot out heal lvl 28 buffs and conditions. You need a Mesmer and a Protection Monk to remove and/or smite those hexes and conditions. People don't understand that for some reason.
Just removing those hexes and conditions will keep the gyoup alive. With Divine Favor everytime yuo remove a hex or condition you will passively heal.
Also, you need a ranger to pull and call targets. Keep the group back a ways and have one man use a bow to lure enemies back to the group. Most group just rush into a bed of enemies and think they can kill 10 level 28 monsters: STUPID! Lure them one at a time and they will die FAST!
I completed the last 2 mission of the game on the first try like this. What's more everyone in the group had massive DP. mine was -58% at the end on the game. Yet we still beat the game on the first try! Those endgame missions aren't hard it's just that most people don't understand the Fundamentals of Team Play.
