Default Dragon's lair, it's not as hard as you think

every where i go i hear how impossible dragon's lair is..... the health degen at first the knock down on the last yadda yadda.... i tried it once with a group of 8 that said they would be strategic etc etc....... big surprise they weren't and we wiped on the first part of the missin=on.. i spent the rest of the night in pre with me ele to blow off steam.... yesterday i decided to do it again.. got with a group that would be strategic etc etc..... welll first off we had an "l33t" type player.. said he was bad ass spammed his health and so&so is dead.... never waited for anyone's energy to regen ran ahead pulled the mobs right in to the middle of our casters and got our poor healer up to a 50% before we even finished the second level.... we also had a hitch hiker with us.... you know the ones who join your party and go afk the whole mission
well we decided to leave the jerk warrior dead.. so he spammed the chat window with dead and we couldn't really strategize..... he and the hitcher finaly left when we had to objectives to go.....
our reduced party of six then managed to get through the second to last level pretty quickly... and then we reached the last.... backfire wasn't working on the boss everytime we got the health down the knockdown would kick in and it would use heaing sig..... after about 15-20 mins we all began to think we just didn't have enough fire power.... so while we were knocked down we started discussing how the heck we could pull this out and do it.... well with our kick ass mesmer and great healers we finaly finaly managed to kill it......
i just wanted to thank the great bandaid, jexx, phoenix, staradass and awretch (sorry if i misspelled any tryin to remmebr off the top of my head here) you guys have reaffirmed my faith in good players they do exsist and it IS possible to turn a battle around wehn it looks like all hope is lost.... i'd group with any of you any day

This misson is much more easier with the henchmen... no joke.

Take a couple of interrupts and you can kill Glint at the end with them, too.

Exactly.

Though it is worthy to note Porkchop's last sentence - henchies will probably get raped if you don't bring interrupts. I like to bring Savage Slash or some such. Glint-killer.

Yes, this mission is laughingly easy with henchmen. I never looked for a group. I did it with henchmen and beat it the first time. I think only one henchmen even died during the entire mission. The mobs are small and the bosses are easy. I found this mission to be a relaxing break after the Elona's Reach and Thirsty River missions.

Don't know about beating Glint with henchies though - myself, I couldn't do it without help of guild mates. She's really strong and as a monk I could barely keep one tank healed, even including 2 monk henchies - so, no time to interrupt properly.
Still, I can assume that first part could be difficult to non-monks, since healing without Heal Party is PitA

This mission is one of the easy ones in my opinion.

The health degen is by far the worst status. After that its happy days.

Degen is annoying.

Knockdown is frustrating, actually more just time-consuming.

What was the death domain one? Like everybody has poison nova or something? Whatever it was, I think I remembered it being mildly aggrivating but easily avoided with slight care.

And I could never tell what the mesmer domain effect was, it never seemed to do anything.

Dragon's Lair is pathetically easy, just go through, kill one mob, next mob, etc.

The real bugger is Glint. Although we managed to pull through and take her out with 5 people and Lina. I'm glad I got that one over with @_@.

You should join up with our setup PuGs for various things and we'll show you what a good team can do :>

Um you don't actually have to beat Glint to finish the mission, that is just the bonus I think. When I first did the mission we got completely raped by Glint, only to be rezzed by here seconds later to tell us in a cutscene "that we were not ready yet".

Yeah, it is only the bonus. But as someone said, I'm anal about it and have to complete every quest and bonus in the game >:
