Default Woohoo!

I felt like making a thread for congratulating myself on a job well done. On my second try I beat Abaddon's Mouth with henchmen (I barely count my first try because I never got past the first ether seal. For some reason I felt like acting like an idiot and charging into about 15 Mursaat).

The mission turned out to be much easier than I expected. I went slow and cleared out one group at a time. I didn't bother killing Willa the Impossible. I couldn't even make a dent in him or his companion so I just broke the door and ran past him.

The one rough point was when I had to destroy the 6 seals at the end. I destroyed one of them and saw a bunch of wimpy level 10s come out. I laughed and wiped them out and destroyed two more seals. Unfortunately I failed to notice some of those dots was about eight Mursaat Guardians coming at me from two sides. I did take notice though when everyone in my party except me and Cynn was vaporized.

I retreated and fortunately I switched from E/N to E/Mo after the desert. Only Aidan was in rebirthing range without triggering the Guardians to come after me. I really did not want to redo this mission after coming so far. So finally I got two of the Guardians alone and I meteor showered them. Cynn and Aidan died but I killed the two and retreated. Now I was alone.

I revived them both (the healers were still too far away to revive). I attacked again and killed another couple Guardians and lost Aidan and Cynn again. But now I was able to revive everyone except Little Thom. I now went in and cleared the rest of the Guardians and eventually the seals with no more problems.

The watched the cut scene and then went "uh oh" when I realized I had to fight one more foe. I prepared myself to battle this Titan beast. Titan backed away from me and stood there. I approached with caution and...slaughtered it because it never fought back...

Is this a bug? I was expecting a little more resistance! But I'm glad I was able to get through this mission. I kept cool in face of a near party wipe and beat it.

I'd be more impressed if it was tale about Thirsty River. 2 last missions are easy enough to do with henchies. I had some problems with Ring of Fire, dumb bastards just love to swim in lava. But Abbadon? Mursaat appear in small groups, so it's easy to kill them, as long as you fight only one at time. Also, using magic to kill them before entering the "fort" will make sure that your henchs don't charge inside and get slaughtered.
In short - it's pretty easy.

Congratulations on beating the mission. I think the last mob is a bugged one. Bit of an anti-climax IMO.

I'm always happy when Aleisa (sp) doesn't die.

You must be a miracle man, Dax, if Alesia doesn't die. She's just a few fries short of a Happy Meal most of the time.

And congrats, Lost!

Ive do thursty river mission with henchies all the time, just for practice. So far its 9 wins 2 losses. Ive also taken someone with me to just to show them i could do it and told him not to fight just sit back somewhere safe and watch. That one was close cause I was a henchie short. People dont realize how easy it can be to play with henchies, as long as you call your trarget it can be even easier then with real people cause henchies always attack a called target, humans on the other hand....

People need to realize that group focused damage on one target is better then the spreading out your damage on 4 diff foes.

Indeed Thirsty River is easier with henchies for the most part. I did 100% of ascension this time through with henchmen on my mezmer. Even got the bonus on TR on my first attempt.

hell's precipice with bonus is easy with henchies as well, cuz you always get those idiots in PUGs that dont listen to target calling.

Henchies often have an advantage over their human player counterparts for exactly what you said, Kleps: They follow targets, stick together and follow the leader. I've played much of the game "alone" with henchies and it works just fine for me...most of the time. Every now and again I get a mission that's too confusing and/or hard or I get lonely and join a PUG.

Took me two tries with henchmen too. I failed to look at the minimap when all those guardians were spawning.

Second time I got it no problem.

The hardest part on that mission with henchmen is that ether seal guarded by the ranger and monk mursaat. The only thing that makes it hard is the henchmen aren't big fans of retreating.

if only the party leader had a button to stop the movement of henchies...

then pulling mobs with henchies would be no problem and you wouldn't get gangbanged by tons of aggro'd enemies.
