Dude, have you played many other online rpgs? The GW devs are great, they give us weekly updates , and you say thats not enough? Other than bug fixes, which they fix within a day, major updates shouldnt come ALL the time. As it is, these devs are the most involved ive ever experienced, they listen, do weekly updates, which is something they dont have to do at all, and they give us free content (or will soon). I love updates as much as the next guy, but come on, even monthly is great. I use to play UO where the updates came every 6 months or so, SWG, where updates hardly ever came (while i played), MU where there are no updates (practically).

I think the future of GW updates is looking fantastic

Man, some people are just too spoiled. You update game every week and later they demand you do it everyday. Not only that, they also want you to give details of your work and "great content".

Why, that's just *so* easy. Why stop at one update daily? Maybe 2? And in the weekend, one every hour, how does that sound?

hmmm ... daily updates? never happened ... bug fixes eploits immediately after release happen with every game ... in beat there was what ... 1 weekend a month so getting streaming updates every wednesday seems like a reasonably well balanced system. Letting you know what going on? ... have you read any of the interviews? and of the boards?

actually anet has done a fantastic job these opening months ... remember that gw is in its birth ... like a baby or a bonsai ... they are taking strategic and well thought out planning to implement things off the bat. Security is one of the top things that they never bypass to get shovel out some content. Thats why I like this game soo much. With their support team already swamped by the thousands that get ripped off trying to get free money back, their programmers duely working on current blossiming fixes/patches, the summer update, the next chapter ... their pr/customer relations working with many magazines, websites, guilds, to give them all attention ... including extra attention in guru? ... seems reasonable to EXPECT daily updates

lol ... they are doing a great job of meeting the ever going demands we put on them ...

I don't understand why they cant constantly post even 15 minutes a day and tell us what there plans are...... yay, they skipped one week. They actually have to build other features into the game. They stream in lots of small things all the time, but that doesn't mean they arent fixing major things. Seriously, these retarded end of the world posts need to stop and people need to start thinking before posting.

Anyone who moans about not getting an update every week is an idiot. period.

Any and every online RPG takes at least 1-3 months to release an update, none of them have any extra content (saved for expansions exclusively) and on top of the 1-3 month wait, remember that you pay monthly fees.

GW is the most stable and balanced online RPG/MMO/PvP/whatever you call it game ever. On top of that it has no monthly fees. On top of that it is almost entirely bug free. On top of that you are getting updates not once in 3 months but once in 2 weeks.

Anyone who cries about not getting an update every 7 days or even 14 days should get some grey cells. Youre not very far away from swinging from trees.

He asked a question and, while it may have been a bit...simplistic, it doesn't warrant name calling. Believe it or not, there are people out there who don't spend all day reading the Prima Guide or reading GW forums all over the 'net. One can make a point without being condescending.

who said nothing changed? have you NOT been privy to the weekly updates? quite simply, if the fixing is working, and there is les to fix, then we will need less updates. so... once its "not broken" you can stop fixing.

ArenaNet was founded on the basis that Guild Wars is the only game they will ever build. Every other game they will ever move on to will be an expansion to Guild Wars. Period. They don't do anything else, and they have no plans to do anything else.

As to emitting updates on a regular schedule... well, there were just flat out more things that needed to be addressed at first. Now... there are fewer absolute 'show-stoppers', and the changes they are making need to be run by the testers first.

So the actual work that ArenaNet is doing to improve Guild Wars hasn't slowed down at all—but the goodies they're coming up with are larger and more complicated than they used to be.
