Is the game even legally sold/distributed in a country where the natives speak Mandarin?

AN has already hinted strongly that actions are used to detect bots, not any kind of dialog monitoring.
As far as I can guess, the random dialogue must somehow disrupt the way Anet determines whether a player is botting or not. My guess is that the bot detection method was either leaked, or someone figured out how it worked - and possibly is selling a working bot script to players - either that, or it's a sweatshop like the above poster suggested.

Check out the following URL that is -SELLING- bot scripts & macros for GW, for example:

You know, I'm glad that Anet's nerfing of almost every area, plus spamming enchantment hate all over the map, plus gimping the drop rates has lead to such a decline in botting.

I mean, without those massive efforts in combatting the bots, we'd be seeing a TON of them today.

Oh wait...

Here's a tip : Botting exists because people make money by selling GW gold on ebay for real cash. Take away that market and the botting stops.
Ergo, STOP MAKING IT SO DAMN HARD TO EARN 5 FRIGGING GOLD PIECES IN YOUR GAME.
If everyone can make gold easily and can find top items easily, the desire to have 500K gold for a max damage sword vanishes. The desire to BUY gold vanishes.
Without people wanting 500K gold and willing to shell out 20 bucks for it, the market for gold on ebay vanishes, and the botters will move back to WoW.
This doesn't seem such a difficult solution...

That just kills the game though. The point in playing a game like is to have goals, like missions and quests. But to also have to work for your armor. As long as people are willing to take a lazy route to somthing, this problem will continue.

You should edit out that link -- I'm pretty sure someone was banned around here recently for making a similar post to yours(although there very well may have been extenuating circumstances there)..

Even still, there's no sense in making it any easier than it already is for people to get their hands on that stuff.

Yeah, I don't like that as much either. Why bother buying the game if you're gonna have a program doing everything for you?

Bravo bravo! I agree with your post entirely!

Why is crystal desert so hard? What those darn scarabs cast chilblains the very second you cast an enchantment. You will lose your enchant within 2s! Or my $5 in your wallet!

Crystal Desert isn't particularly hard. It's quite easy to explore even with just henchmen, just bring the appropriate skills and don't over-aggro.

Up until yesterday I thought Elona Reach was impossibly hard to do with henchmen, then I found there's a trick to it, and suddenly it was completely manageable.
