Acting in GW (the ACT)
Hello, my in game name is Psi X, and my brother's is Aurok Nechronus... We have recently become somewhat popular for what we do in Guild Wars. We are actors... Using the money we have earned over the course of the game we have fourmed a guild with the tag of ACT and the name of "Awsome Creative Team". We have put on many plays in the city of Lions Arch in District 8. There we have gained somewhat of a support group. We charge no fee to watch our plays yet, and accept donations after we are done if you are willing.
I am mainly posting here to give the community an idea of what is coming about in Guild Wars. Mainly my brother and I are on monday-friday doing plays. We record them as well, currently we are working on editing the video and adding voice overs to them to post on the fourms. Aurok and I would like to say to all that have donated, Thank you so much. And to all who are just now reading this, come to Lions Arch sometime, you may just run into us at town square performing "Unlucky Monk" or by the Guild Regestrar acting out "Boo to you too!" or maybe somewhere else performing other plays in Lions Arch like "Paper, Rock, Scissors!" I will try and have the play edited and post on these fourms within 24 hours, on this thread. Thanks for the support guys!

Dude, that's pretty darn cool. What times do you usually put these on? And do you have a website or something? *writes down information*

Ok, thanks for comments so quickly. We dont have set times yet seeing how getting to a district and gathering people can take random amounts of time. No website yet eather, but I will start work on one just to inform people. As for watching one of the plays, I have the next best thing to live. I recorded "Unlucky Monk" and made a video with music to fit for it. It is 30 Megs in WMV format. The link is http://www.xthost.info/act1/UnluckyMonkFinal2.wmv . I will set up a time for us to perform plays when my brother gets home from work. It might not be today or tommarow. Mostly, like I said, we do our plays on week days. When we do get the time set up it will most likly take place in district 8, it is basicly our acting district . Tell me what you think of the video.
Thanks for all the support again guys.

Saw it, very, very cool. 2 suggestions: have someone else film it, and do it in the Team chat with all the others filtered (at least when you film it).

Ya, that is our biggest problem, as of right now it is me, Aurok, and someone named Chaos II who can't use ventrilo. I am the only one who knows how to capture the movies and edit them, of course with fraps file sizes are HUGE so sending uncompressed files to me is out of the question. Looks like I will have to stop acting some of the plays and just record lol. As for team chat, good when recording, bad when performing of course... Biggest problem with plays are spammers ^_^.

That ACTing really sounds lovely. I hope I will catch you live sometimes, but in the meantime, I just can't get that video link to work, it always redirects me to the xthost mainpage, even after making an account there...

Ya, link died, must have broken a rule or excited bandwidth, will try and find new host. Aurok myself and our new partner Chaos are now putting on zoned plays. We take a group of 3 people outside to watch, a few problems with monsters sometimes, but overall, having spells and weapons rocks for plays. We will have some what of a time setup hopfully by monday. for now, taa taa.

could someone else host the vid? I'm very curious about this, and I'm sure the GW team would be as well.
What are you playing, US, Europe, Korean or International? You should do it on International so that anyone who hears about it (me) can see it.

Sounds like your next purchase should be for a guild hall to perform some of the plays at without being interrupted.
The different scenery is always a plus too :P
Sounds like you're having a lot of fun with it, and others are too, so keep it up.

We normaly do plays in US district 8 of Lions Arch. One question about guild halls, I will be looking this up as well, but do they get randomly attacked or what purpose do they serve? I have been pleased to see that people reading the fourms have already started looking for us in game and one person did. He got to see our brand new "Zoned" play. It was very experimental, and we have learned to clear the area. Our next outdoor play should be very cool for our action fans out there. Also about guild halls, can you invite random people to them without them being in the guild? Haveing only 3 people watching the play at a time is ok but 5 or more would be better ^_^. As always, thanks for the support.

I don't know if us europeans can join any US district (don't think so tho) so it would probably be cool if you did those plays in the international district. Also there arn't so much people (and as much spammers) as in the "normal" ones.

Hey, well we did a new play! We are calling this one "Clean up your act!" We do it at the docks on the ship that takes you to see guild halls. The play is fun to do, but hard to get people to join because it's kinda out of the way. Also, just a side note we had a record number of people for "Unlucky Monk", almost 15 people! Woot! Thanks guys.

Also, Aurok and I will now be advertising our plays about 15 minutes in advance in every district and going to the international district 1 to do our plays, for all you Euorpians out there ^_^.

Hello. I was going to post sooner... but I didn't... so I'm posting now. Okay I'd like to start by listing all of the plays we have performed. Lets see.....
"Unlucky Monk"
"Boo To You Too"
"Clean Up You Act"
"Paper, Rock, Scissors"
I think we have done 1 or 2 more but they didn't work out as well as we wanted so they have kind of been forgotten. Anyway, we are hoping to get our new member Chaos II to help out with a new one but may need somebody else because Chaos cannot use ventrillo. The play we are planning involves a couple of guys getting psyched up for some sort of sport. We thought of this a long time ago but without 3 people we couldn't think of a good way to make it work. I have noticed our acting becoming more and more popular and it has been happening faster than expected. Several people have wanted to see our website (a work in progress) and read these forums. Hopefully we can eventually get people interested in participating in plays and other events. We don't want to expand our ACT guild too fast because we feel it is important to get to know everyone you are teamed up with pretty well but we would like to slowly grow so if you are interested in helping out get in touch with us. We prefer it if you can get either ventrillo or teamspeak, however it is not required. The reason is because we do a lot of syncronized stuff and it is just way easier to chat. We set up a public ventrillo server which we be in frequently. We also have a private server for team members only. The IP and port for the public server is psy.homelinux.com:3786 and runs Ventrilo 2.1.4. As for international plays, I believe we will start going to each district and posting an ad telling people to go to the international district to watch our plays. So we will be performing in the international district. My E~mail address is [email protected]. I currently get NO E~mail so as long as I don't start getting spam feel free to ask questions or share comments. If you have ideas we would welcome those as well. I know people would like to know when we will be performing. We still don't have any set times posted but when we do we'll let you know.
