Button to pick up nearest item that has been dropped
I hate having to look around to find what is dropped then having to click on it, i think there should be a button that just makes ur character run and pick up the nearest item.

Just use alt. Then the item lights up and makes it easier to find. But, sarcastically said though it was, Kape is right: that would make bot heaven.

Bots are clearly being given the programming to overcome this anyways. I mean, they've been programmed to automatically open chests in random locations so I'd assume that they can pick up loot anyways.
Therefore, the only thing that not having a "pickup all loot" button does is hinder the player.

Creating such bot takes a bit of effort I assume. But with "auto pickup" you could basically have "move->select enemy->use spell 1-8->pick loot". That would make it *much* easier. No need to identify/detect items on ground.

Right after this gets implemented, I want a button that I can push and a beer is delivered. Then, GW would officially be called 'the laziest game ever.'
NOT NEEDED.

Actually the bots that are being ran have no problem picking up items without such a button. However what he's asking for is a solution for the players, not a way to aid bots in something that they can already do fine without any help from arenanet. Another thing I would like to see for monks is, selecting the team member with the lowest health, but I don't think that will be added either.

I'd be happy if stacked loot would prioritize the item that I can pick up. I hate getting 'that item is reserved for another player' over and over again because there's a grey item on 'top' of my white, forcing me to aim carefully and pick the right one from the pack. That is the main issue that is slowing down my loot pickup right now, don't think a button to pick things up is needed.
Perhaps in similar nature, I'd love to see corpse selection return. The current 'nearest corpse' autoselect for corpse exploiting skills is too restrictive, makes Putrid Explosion more difficult to target and makes Necrotic Traversal even less useful than it already was.

Same here with the corpse selection. Although if you are facing an enemy and you let of putrid explosion, it takes out the nearest corpse to that enemy which is quite nice.

The 'pick up loot' button has been implemented in Dungeon Siege. It's very useful in my opinion.

I agree. I don't recall any reviews of DS complaining about this feature (some people even call GuildWars "Dungeon Siege Online"). In fact i believe the DS-loot-pickup feature actually picks up ALL the loot [not only the nearest one], right? It's not really asking for something revolutionary or a built-in coffee maker.
If your bot can kill/open whatever produced the item in the first place then picking it up would be LEAST of its worries dont you think?
Although, the drops in teams are like 1 per encounter, so i wouldnt exactly need such a feature in GW [sadly]. But with hench/solo it is a different story.

I want them to add a button for "kill all visible enemies immediately"....then Guild Wars will officially be the easiest game ever designed.

button to pick up nearest item, i rather have a button to attack the nearest enemies, cuz im tired of standing there after killing one monster and have to click on the next one (sometime, you have to move your character and click on the monster in order to attack it)
as for item pick-up, its cool, i just pick up eveything that i see with my name on it but that idea seems cool

I agree...it is annoying to "try" and pick something up at times. Mainly when there is more then one drop. I keep lighting up the "other one" for the other player. Or, I have to hurry because someone didn't wait and there is another fight going on and I have to get over there to help.
Also I get real tired of getting STUCK in between players or thier minons. I hit TAB or Slash/Space then realize I am still standing there. Could use a STUCK bubble or some command to UNSTICK you so you can move again.
