As a ten-year experienced roleplayer, let me just give you a little saying, which prettymuch sums up what roleplaying is about.
"Adopt, adapt, and improve."
And Principa, I hope you didn't interpret my previous post as a personal attack. It wasn't intended that way, and I did recognize my fault in the matter. It's feedback. Possibly a bit harsh, but it's how I see it.

Well the rangers are supposed to be able to live off the land and blend in, so why shouldnt they wear clothes made from the trees and all that. If they were in the jungle and making clothes from the natural resources around them, why would they make something big and heavy, so they can sit in a pool of sweat ? :P If you dont like it, dont wear it, you can use standard druids, theres nothing wrong with it, it looks lovely tbh.

They aren't living off the land if they're going to a town far from any forest (in quite a cold clime, at that) and having a dwarf make their armour for them. XP

About every female character in the game being a sex object, apply that to real life, is every woman at the beach in a bikini, who are covered less than the rangers sex objects ? Your taking it way too seriously.

This is a very good point. In fact, I can't think of a counter for it. Touché.

You don't have any reason to worry, I wasn't addressing you personally. I was addressing a good number of people, they know who they are, and they better put a sock in it because I do not want to lock Gaile's thread.
What a great impression of our forum that would make, when people get so damn childish that official announcements must be locked. Some of you have some serious growing up to do, and right now.

I'd normally just use the Tim Roth Doesn't Give a * image again...but I'm not sure where the link is, so I'll just reply with an actual post.
I'm PvE just as much as the next guy. Most of my game time so far has been PvE. But just because I disagree with just handing over full attribute points each and every time you go back into town, doesn't I'm some PvP fanatic or anything, even though I do enjoy it.
The idea of an Ascension quest or something...meh. You include something like that and you'll have PvPers whining that they're being given the short end of the stick. The quest idea is something that is liable to do more damage than good.
And simply lowering the xp requirements for refund points isn't an option? Why the need for drastic changes?

No, he sounds like someone who was making a point...a point that went right over your head, apparently. You had asked how your suggestion would hurt anyone in any way, implying that because it wouldn't hurt anyone, it's a reasonable suggestion.
Algren's request showed you how suggestions can be outlandish, absurd, unreasonable, even when they don't "hurt anybody else."

but really, I havn't played but for a few sec's since yesterday's update, so I havn't gotten to check out AI or the new faction rules, etc...

Thanks for that great update. I really liked the improved Trader Interface. It is also great that my California Special (Earthquake + Aftershock) won't be screwed up if that one monster I'm targeting out of that large mob just so happens to die.

Thank you very much a.net. You address player concerns within weeks, the only other mmorpg I play that even listens to its members takes months.
Many many people could do with following your example.

To say the truth I really cannot see anything in this update that makes me wanting to keep playing.
Basicly we got another PvP update, I bet next week (or the one after it) they drop the fraction points required.
Yes, they put another healer NPC in the desert ... not enough for me to want to go there, henchman have a better pathfinder but I find they are slower now.

Gaile, were there any undocumented updates, like nerfed drops in certain areas?

I'd hate to see that happen since gaile was the creator of this thread, but people are somtimes more wild then all the animals contained in a zoo. If it has to lock though, it has to lock =/
And not that i'm trying to add to any of it, but in response to:

I should point you to thanas post somewhere above yours as a legitimate answer. Read carefully as it answers both questions.

This re-inforces the focus of the game i.e. the skills.
There are a number of games where you cannot change your skills. For example Diablo2. At least this game allows skill changes. And it honestly does not take a huge amount of time to gain refund points.
The only problem I had recently with refund points was the lack of XP in PvP which meant if you were using a PvE character in PvP you had to go into the PvE world, do a mission and then change your refund points. This however has been rectified in the most recent update and is no longer a problem.
|
In short, if your not thinking about what your putting into the skillbar before you put it there and its the last second before we go into the PvE world as a group, the entire group will feel it. Sure, this happens anyway, but it'll happen ten times more often if attribute points are free.

Finally I can target the same mob as the rest of the group! I used to have to target a different one so the spell would go off before it got killed!
Took them a long time to get this out (Firestorm was fixed weeks ago) but thanks!!

Personally I think that Gaile should, somehow, be given the ability to lock and sticky her own thread. That way she can make uninterrupted announcements that anybody can read and comment on elsewhere. Would save a ton of headaches.

I dont see much point in that, after all we have to close guild wars every time a new build comes and we go to Guild Wars site to see what was updated.
That is the place for official anoucements, this is nothing but a fan organized site about the game.

Yes, but apart from the GW official site, this is the best place to know "what's going on" and discuss about it. The simple fact that devs open threads here from time to time shows the degree of accountability this Forum appears to have.
Indeed it's a sad spectacle to still see unreasonable ranting while Anet is so responsive.

Hehe, I temporarily forgot where i got my armour. :P
The first thing I thought of when I saw the armour was Eve (From Adam and Eve) :P which actually gave me a good laugh.

Yes, this appears to be bug. Even more extreme when you look at runes and rare items. See this thread:

The other thread is locked, so I ask that in here again:
Does that mean, that guilds ganking the guild lord with Grenth´s Balance were exploiting a bug?
I would really appreciate it, if someone from ANet could answer that!
I have a problem with the looks of the female druid armor myself: Why is it that the female druid is half naked and the male druid is the exact opposite? Why is it that nearly all females show some skin and males nearly never do? Isn´t that sexism? Does Anet really need to be so shallow?

Yeap, previously Grenth's balance basically reduces 1/2 the difference from the target and gives it to you.
Trouble is what if the mob is a 2000 HP creature, and you have only 400 HP max?
The target used to receive 700 damage, while you can only yield up to a maximum of 400. That's where the bugs lie.
