The I-LIKE-Guild-Wars Thread
So having lurked and posted around these boards for a while, I have to seriously hand it to A.Net and the development team. They've made a game that's a lot of fun, and they make constant steps to support and improve it...
... and ALL the community does is BITCH.
They whine about farming. They whine about NOT farming. They whine about game balance, about the economy, about cutscenes not being skippable ENOUGH.
Well, I LIKE GW. It's addictive, it's pretty, it's balanced, it's well-supported, the art design is spectacular. I could go on, but I won't. I know I'm not alone, but it's hard to tell from these forums.
A.Net, hats off to you. People having fun, hats off to you. Whiny eleven-year olds making noise because you feel like you're entitled to this, that and the other thing? Learn to program, and make your own game.

Amen, Catharsis. You're preaching to the choir with me and, while there are some very minor issues that annoy me, all in all, I have gotten more "bang for my buck" with GW than with any game since D2 came out.
Thanks Anet for a great game that promises a greater future.

It's normal. Game forums always have more complaints than compliments, presumably because those who actually like the game are playing it rather than complaining about it.

wow, are we having some gay forum battle?
People are aloud to bash games, its their rights as people to not enjoy certain things about certain things.
If you dont like that, you dont have to make a thread opposing the people that feel the need to pick apart things.
I love GW I think it's awesome and I played it to no end, but I can still point out the bad in it. Cuz it does have bad.
Nothings perfect, but I respect Anet for a good debut style game such as this.

I fourth this. I haven't actually had a single complaint since I started playing a few months ago, and I'm still enjoying the game. In fact, I even booted my wife off my account onto her own just to have the spare character slots. =P

I recently got frustrated that I couldn't farm with my W/Mo - then realised. This is GW, just about anything can beat anything. Coming from a D2 background where Necro's couldn't pvp, Barbarians couldn't kill Sorceresses, etc - into GW where the build complexity (and indeed flexibility, god bless refund points), I have to remind myself not to lose sight of what a great game this actually is

Well it sort of comes with the territory. Anet has set the precedent of giving us what we request. Well the good stuff anyway, no ninjas. And that's fine, we appreciate the symbiotic bond with our Doctor Feelgood of gaming.
But the saying goes, give them an inch and they want a mile. So everyone sees that Anet listens to the community and actually delivers. Then they want UAS, UAX, horses, and any other stupid ideas that don't mesh with what Guild Wars is about.
Its a control issue really.
13-yr old kid sees that an idea he agrees with was implemented.
13-yr old gets a taste of power over the gaming company.
13-yr old decides he has a voice, which is not a bad thing.
13-yr old starts to request throwing stars, elves and monkies.
13-yr old gets frustrated when his relatively shallow requests aren't met.
13-yr old trashes Anet and Guild Wars and reverts back to WoW.

This was VERY rude and highly uncalled for. What a terrible attitude and a generally rotten thing to say.
If some would like to start a thread about their appreciation for the game, why is it necessary to say something so VERY out of line.
You, sir, should apologize for your behavior.

Great to see a Kudos thread every so often. Great to have all these nifty features added to a game that could have been called complete at launch. Keep up the good work ArenaNet! You deserve the praise for all the hard work you have put into this game.

I second that! This is a great game and I plan on playing it for quite some time! A-Net can count on me buying the new chapters

I agree, besides the issues I have with drops and afk players during missions, its a GREAT game.
There is nothing better than leaving your character to dance in Lion's Arch while you leave for work and won't be back 10 hours later

no one makes an I dont like guild wars thread. Jeez.
They make threads about things they dont like in the game, which is normal, deal with it.
People act like they need to defend this game as if it were their young, its gross
