Default UW Cry Babies

I made a trapping group for UW today; killed most of the smites untill two Coldfire Nights got through our line and chased our only Ele all the way back to Lost Soul where we killed them.

I had stated previously that I wanted to do quests, but one of the members insisted "I'm only here for lute!". Since we were already at Lost Soul, we decided to get the first quest.

Well, we killed everything and completed it, but then one of the members, ***name edited*** (The same person from above) gets both Unwanted Guests and Escort of Soul, then he leaves - ensuring that none of us will ever go any further. We died 5 minutes latter after being rushed by Vengful Aaxtees.

What's that about? This attitude of "I love money! Not exp! I WANT MORE MONEY!!!! NOW!" seems to be everywhere >.>

Edited: Please do not name names. ~ Anie

Yeah, I wish people would realize that you really don't get anything from smites anymore... I'm sick of people complaining about doing the exp quest down there.

Everyone has their own priorities, some classless, some classy. Too bad there isn't an easier way to weed out all of the idiots...naming names might help

I agree but apparently that's against board policy.

Anyhow, it helps a lot to tell people /repeatedly/ before going to UW that you're only there for exp. That helps a lot but still about 1/3 of the time someone decided not to read team chat and waits till you get down there to start spamming, "OMG TEH SMITES ARE THIS WAY!!!1"

Thing is about naming names: It really doesn't do any good. Oh sure, it makes you feel better and there's something good in that...but it's too easy to change names, delete characters, etc. The only time I can see "naming names" doing any good is if you could name an -account- rather than a character's name within an account. That way, no matter what name they might use or how many times they change characters, you'd know who they were.

Actually, last I checked, if you stick someone on your buddy list, and they log in with a diff character, it still shows them on your buddy list but with their new character name. Hence it does /indeed/ track accounts.

That said, I think it would be feasible to start a website to track PUG behavior and leave feedback. Screencaps can be used to verify offending actions and posted.

Can naming names really help? I think with the right set up yes, but it would take some work to set up.

Diomedes:

Good suggestion. Any thoughts how to implement this? If you have some, maybe write them up and put them in the Site Feedback forum.

And, you're right....you do see aliases if you have them on your buddy list. There are just so many goobers out there, the list would just never be long enough.

It's true, the friends list isn't very long (and your enemies list won't track aliases).

And I think I will type up a site suggestion, good call Aniewiel.

Infact, Galley Gray said it herself about how what she liked about the Guild Wars communities was that people take a good job into letting other players know whose a bad player and who isn't.

So a moderator on a message board knows more than the head GM on the game they are hosting a message board for? O.x

BTW: It happend again but we didn't find out who did it.

I don't make the rules here. I just enforce them.

You might want to read Diomedes's post in the Site Feedback forum. He's got a good idea and maybe it's something that would be helpful for the community.

I don't mean you, just the person who put that rule into action here.
