*raises hand* I was playing in the 2004 E3 for Everyone as well as the world Preview event later that same year
but the thing is there will always be people who will look back at how things were that THEY liked and be sad that it's not like that anymore. "The good Old Days" ... and usually it wasn't that great and sure some things might be changed to the "worse" for some people, but there are always a heck of a lot of things that change for the better.
And I have to say, being ressurected in your instance rather than being nabbed back to the nearest city/outpost is a damned good change :P
Oh yeah, and the use of skill rings.. heh., I prefer the current system :P
And gotta say the game looks a whole lot better graphically than it used to. although that might also be because I have a much better computer now than I did back then
and Aaaaagh is right, GW isn't old yet. Want to talk nostolgia.. try talking to players who used to play Shadow of Yserbius and Gates of Twinion way back when INN was up and running :P Heh, I played on one of the off-shoots of those game's which when went public beta in '93 (I joined in '93)... and the game is still up and running and the developers have plans on upgrading/expanding it to try and draw in more ppl. Now thats an old game.. 12+ years and still up and running :P

I enjoyed the old days of Guild Wars back in 2004. However I also enjoy the current days as well. GW has changed a lot over the past year or so, but it has still remained just as great, if not better.

Those were the days. The community was really flourishing then as well. If I remember correctly, there was less guild spamming, maybe 1 spam every ten districts you go to, and I don't remember a single griefer. I really enjoyed beta and world preview.

I find it humorous that the "old days" you are refering to are not the Beta.
The beta was the best time for Guild Wars. Plain and simple. Not only was the game infinitely more fun, but also the community was awesome. Release sucks.

Since this is turning into a gripe thread heading towards posts that consist purely of "GW sucks now!" like many other threads around here, I'm going to step in and close it.
Leave the past to the past, and use valuable energy to try to improve the future, shall we? We have a whole forum dedicated to suggestions..
