"One-Man Salvation Army"
I have been doing some serious thinking about the economical factor of this game.
Many people have posted their ire at the state of the economy, while I myself have had no problems attaining that next armor upgrade, or item or what have you.
Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that to help, one must STOP SPEAKING, and START DOING.
From here on out, whenever you see me in the game, if you do (im not in town often) and you need crafting materials or anything at all, if I have it on me, you can have it (within reason).
I have my armor how I want it. I have my weapon how I want it, and do NOT need 50000000000 skales, leathers or whatever else. I have gold saved. I have my hall and all that jazz.
Therefore, for those of you who are struggling to make it, and you walk up to me seeking something you can turn around and sell for profit, or use to upgrade, or anything else, if I have it on me, it is yours. Just ask.
Greed gets old. There is more than enough to get on drops. I can go outside in maguuma with 2 expert salvage kits, 3 id kits, and come back with over 2k of mats. I will simply horde the stuff, and dole it out.
RULES:
FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE
IF YOU ASK ME ONCE, THAT's IT
IF YOU WANT HELP ON A MISSION, I AM NOT CHARGING YOU (that is the ultimate mindlessness in my opinion)

But... But.... I thought Salvation Army people would stand outside of a merchant place with a caudron and a bell, asking for donations...
(I am not making fun of Salvation Army, which is for good cause, only because the title mentioned it).

I am aware (painfully) of the nature of human beings. Trust me, I am not trying to end something like greed, that has none. I am simply going to try the "nice card" and see how much of a dent I can make in this god damn miasma of pissed off players.
While my offer is not an invite to have me "do your missions for you while you pick your scabs and drink pepsi in your basement", it does mean that not all of us players have a brick of gold up our collective butts. There are nice people playing GW, and all my smartass posts aside, I really AM a nice guy.
If you need help, I'll be around (mostly at night, central time U.S.).

Sure, I'll chip in on this idea. I have 1200 bones and 1400 wooden planks, if any one wants any.

That's very nice of you, but one man/woman can't save the world. I've been doing the same thing w/i my guild for a long time. I gave out weapons, materials, help guildies on missions, and I loan out some of the best weapons I'm not using at the moment. I opt to only help the ppl w/i my guild because I know them and I can handle their needs. And BTW, ppl are greedy. I hope you won't run across a noob cursing at you because you didn't give him enough.

*sigh*
I know I'm not the first to do this, I was doing this in Lineage II for months. I also know about people being asses about it.
Simple solutions though:
Swap districts, or ignore them (on list). Problem solved

I am poor myself, but once in a while I gave out stuffs i don't need. Half of time, I got a bow or a thx whisper. Half other time, people just take it, not even an acknowledgement. Anyways, getting over the second half was the hardest part. Once you get over it, the first half gives you joy.
SOT: have fun

I gave away 6 or 7 runes of various flavours yesterday. Does that count?
I got thankyous from most people too.

Glad to hear it. I guess I wish people would post their kindnesses here, and the reward of a thank you as well. It shows solidarity in a community rife with ego.

I guess what I gave out in pre-searing doesn't warrant a thank you

Yeah, Some were un-id Monk and Necro runes (major and minor) I figured that if people could ID themselves in case they needed them unlocking.
A while ago, Myself and a Necro character decided to stroll across the desert to get from Arnoon (?) to Augury. He gave me a gold max dmg axe 'cos we'd had a comedy walk across the desert (dying a lot, but at least he saw the funny side)
There are good people out there, I must remember that, now that I'm trying to get through the Dunderhead Keep mission.
