I'm starting to hit a slow-down phase myself... but that's only after I've now put 400 hours into the game. If I don't play a second more, I've already gotten by $50 worth out of the game. But after stepping back for a week, I've gone in a totally new direction. I'm working on unlocking all the elite skills, and my guild has kicked into recruiting gear with plans to start running the Tombs and some GvG soon. Then the Summer Update will be out soon... and then school starts again. So I have plenty to keep me busy until the expansion next year. Just find something else to do if you find one aspect getting old.

i agree almost with the followin exception - Final Fntasy VII and Fallout
those rpgs were never designed to even utilise the idea of self-sustainable communities i.e. the mmo bit of mmorpg and yet i still feel compelled to play those games nearly 5/6 years after their initial release.

Completed every single possible mission/quest/side sory etc. and still wanna wander around doin 'stuff' - sounds borin i know but i never get that feelin from these types of games, which on the other hand, are purposefully made with this objective in mind. go figure.

i will still be playin GW cause i njoy not havin to dedicate huge amounts of time to it in any one go. thats about it i think.

When is the new D2 patch going to hit?

Does GW have a periodic log-in requirement, erasing your characters otherwise?

There is a fairly long list of people that have come in and been cycled out to inactivity (3-4 weeks+) and it doesnt seem to be getting any better lately.

Personally, when i was looking at this game durring the preview events, i knew it was something that i could play once a week or so, depending on how active my friends were. I didnt see it as something that was on par with a "rental" game that most of the people ive seen come and go are treating it as. If most of the more casual (a guess) players toss it within a few days, im not really surrprised that some of the more devout gamers are finding it stale after a month or two.

Im surprised to hear reports of increasing immaturity. Theres a thread somewhere saying how the arena mentaility is getting better. From that we could possibly be led to the conclusion that the game is the same as release , and that its just your mood or a bad streak of encounters that is doing it.
Whatsmore, as youve said, you seem to be focusing more on pve, which is much more likely going to be the place where more immature people are, since they dont do pvp, since they dont seem to be able to handle it or something -.- I dont know, but pve is a lot easier than pvp, and i have found the more 'omfgftwnoob' type of people in that half of the game.

I dont know when the D2 patch will be out, but I can tell you that you should be able to log out for a month or more and come back with your stuff still there.

While PvP is brilliant, most of the PvE is a pale attempt at best. I like the UW/FOW concept but that's about it.

Nonetheless, I expected this to happen. I knew this game was designed for PvP and that PvE is decent at best. I can live with it, hoping for upcoming improvements and keeping in mind that, at least, I'm not paying a monthly fee to get bored, as I would if I were playing World of No Friends or Everlag 2.
Well game experience does vary, but you didnt answer the questions.

1200 hours invested and I'm content with my solo farming adventures until something more interesting gets injected into the game.
It had better hurry though. I doubt i would still be logging on after i reach 1800.

I would suggest that all future would be posters of I'm bored with GW, just read existing I'm bored with GW and will find the same things posted there repeatedly.
After doing so either A, purchase a new game to play, or B, go back to an existing game and play that again.
Then in a few months return to GW and enjoy playing it again.

Or you can get yourself hooked on those free Korean games for a bit.

I personally like Gunbound as it's mass multiplayer player online Worms (some may argue Worms is better, but I'm not one to argue that).

I vote forgotten ranger for best avatar ever.

I admit, I have only logged on lately to farm and talk with my guildmates, but hey I've been playing 3 months, about 600 hours, I got my fifty bucks worth.

The community is frustrating and initially you can brush it off because it's not that big of a deal, but over time, that frustration builds and builds and eventually after trying a mission once and failing, you felt like you wasted so much time and give up completely.

So yeah, it's best to put the game down for a bit and come back to it when you actually do feel like playing.
Then I am doomed to be perpetually pissed off, because I simply cannot stop playing the game so yeah

Last night, a guildmate and myself were ont he ascension thing. We allowed a lvl 17 mo/mes tag along because he had been standing in town for hours it seemed, bored out of his mind. How he got to seekerspassage and then the town that is for ascension mission is beyond me, and I honestly do not care, it was someone to play with, and that's all we cared about.

We got all the way to the LAST team of enemies on the battlefield mission, and then, the little mo/mes disappeared. Oh he did not leave the map, or logout, he ran up behind the walls of the location of the enemy priest (our goal to kill) and hid. The monsters could not seem to locate him, and he could heal us from a distance.

Sounds a brilliant ploy to help out right? Well he did nothing but watch us wither down and die. 4 minutes kicked in, they all respawned, and the healer boss and priest seemed to HEAL themselves! So eventually, inevitably, we died. He never said a word, did a thing, or left.

So I hear the screaming from the first post in here, and I understand frustration. I also am addicted to the game, and will look past this crap. BUt geeze

Henchman are your best friend.

-They follow you
-They occasionally agro, and don't understand lure, but they sure as hell know their roles
-They don't talk
-They don't draw or ping on the minimap
-Last but not least, they don't leave

I think that is the most important thing, the fact that they dont leave. Too many times ive had parties fall apart, because one person leaves. The sad thing is it is a working party still and if the rest of the team didnt fall apart then most of the time the mission could have been completed. Many times when part of the team stuck it out, we finished despite being down 1 monk or whatever.

You can complete anything in the pve with just henchmen, but you cant complete everything solo.

i agree these are all great, but it would be great to control their following (tell them to hold position so you can pull).. but aside from that and the rambo monk ever now and again, they are great

I find myself playing a lot more BF2 than GW, the PvP is a bit boring with all the air spikers and spirit spam, and the PvE has run it's course (i really can't be bothered to get my W/R past the desert, I don't like playing either class). The expansion areas will probably draw me back in though...

Mmm I'm kind of tired of the "Done with this game move/move back to <insert MMORPG" If you are why post it? Are you looking for reasons to keep playing?

This is how I see it.. I could play WoW and I do game a lot.. But I can't see why can't any of my friends play the same game as I do.. I've been stuck mostly alone (not much of a guild) or trying to find friends on GW. I know I should just quit the guild I'm in and find one better or whatever. (Turns out my best friend is never on due to over working, WoW and horrible internet) Any other friends just rather WoW. I don't understand since WoW has the same issues (sometimes more) than GW and you have to pay to play.

I respect everyone's opinions but I get lost with these ones.. I say play both games.. If you play too much of either one you'll just get frustrated.. You'll end up complaining how all you do is fly on a Griffin too much, getting ganked, the quests are ridiculous with the grind.. and then switch to another game that seems the same that you're still paying to play.

Get out, breathe and then come back.. tired of GW? then leave and read a book or play on your console games or hang out play a different MMORPG for a little bit. Then come back when you're excited to play again. Just because you're lossing interest doesn't mean you have to leave the game forever.

Once you play a game too much you'll notice all the tiny/big flaws in the game that bug you and then the people bug you and then before you know it You'll end up getting mad and leaving the game to go play the same thing (Sure you may not notice it but then those tiny flaws will start growing again)

But if you're actually completely bored with the game then switch if ya really want, no one's duty to stop anyone's made up decision. But there is a lot to GW just like any other MMORPG:
-Level to Max
-Best Items
-Defeat every monster/dungeon
-Fill the Map
-Make EVERY character design Create new ones.

And all MMORPGS have the same thing or more.. It's just a repeat.

i was tired off the american server there are to many Heros were they think they know all and always get the group in danger when doing mission, plus you dont get all of this stupid drawings.
