I've been following this topic since it started, and I think it's gone so far off course that it needs to be closed. Nothing productive is happening here, aside from a few people on both sides who are calmly trying to stay the course. It has degenerated into nothing but flamewars between PvEers and PvPers and accusations against ANet. I really do hope the issues in the game get addressed, but it's not happening here.
yeah I am sorry I cant explain it very good, personally I am not a good writer.
But I do have a lot of love for the game and want it to be good, if for some reason my posts seem stupid blame it only on emotion and high school writing classes
heh Im more a Calc and Physics type person.
Anyway hopefully even if you can't understand you can take a stretch and see there is a problem when all these PVP teams leave

I hope so, I really do. If there is going to be any positive change, the community itself is going to have to be a driving force. And the way to do that is through constructive, positive discussion... not random accusations and flames, which is unfortunately what this thread has become. I for one will be happy to be part of any positive discussion on the state of the game.
I think I'd have a better perspective if I did more PvP stuff... just seems that whenever I find a guild promising active PvP etc.etc. it never really happens. So, I PvE, UW, etc.

a while ago i would say join BE
one week into retail we had two teams in tombs regularly
one week into retail we had two teams in tombs regularly
in fact we had 2 BE teams at the HoH once..
now we are a memory.
Then make a new guild (or rekindle BE). Understand that things are the way they are, expect them to be fixed (if not overnight) and get the ball rolling again.
Might be worth a shot.
Might be more productive.
Might even give me a chance to learn PvP skills.
OK, it's not a perfect system, but why not work within the system until it's fixed. Might as well have some fun in the meantime, no?
There's new folks out here that never played the game prior to release that like it and manage to have fun. Perhaps it's beneficial not knowing what was or wasn't in Beta, Alpha, etc.

Aniewiel - I'd agree and suggest you closed this if i didn't think it'd rear up again in 4 other threads.
Unless this gets back into constructive territory I'm out. Venting while useful to the individual, you may be blue in the face from telling them (blackace?), it is however not conducive to generating healthy conversation. Blame is not a solution.

Why ? Arena Net doesn't get to hear our voices. I have been on TGH and have seen Gaile's little forums reading session. She's been to every thread PvE related. She avoided the threads like this one that are flaring up on TGH. Anything PvP is left out of her little run. I don't know why she dislikes adressing such issues. She also has the cute habit of replying to threads once, then when things heat up she stops and avoids confrontation. Real good for a PR manager. Stir up the hornet's nest then get the hell out cause you can't defend your points and views.
We've been bringing up really good threads about skills that need to be fixed back in February. Zealot's Fire was clearly identified back then and shown in a very polite and decent way how it needed to be watched. Yet was something done about it ? No. Look at what it degenerated to: either use it or get whacked by it. Or use it to XP farm in a crazy and near abusive manner.
You win some you lose some, such is life you will never please everybody. If A.net gets it right for 75% of players I am sure they will have more than enough to keep the pay role and continue hosting, developing the game. If a few of the TOP players leave because the spit there dummies out so be it, its a game, and if you get that worked up about it , you need to take a chill pill and see a shrink as it is not good for you health period.
Only if all the players left would any of this be an issue, but that just simply isn't going to happen. They are adding new stuff and develpoing stuff that the majority have asked for. The are working within a scheme, GW is not a game that everybody will like, but no game is ever.
And the way to do that is through constructive, positive discussion
The way i see it, the community tried that, and isn't getting listened to. In the last month, i've seen roses and flowers turn into gloom and doom in terms of the tone on many boards.

Farming xp does what exactly? skill points? Oh man, that's degenerate play. why should you have to farm for xp in the first place? i'm not saying UAS, but there's only so much UW questing you can do before you've done it all.

MSecorsky: Word of mouth is better than marketing. When all the good players, who inevitably, have friends that are good players in other games start talking, they dont come to play either. Then it's just a playerbase full of newbs who hopefully will get better. But there are no more people incoming, it just gets stagnant. Which isn't good for a game that's supposedly big on PvP.
So they can keep grabbing newbs all they want. That wont mean much if they dont get a handfull of players that inspire people to want to play.

You forget the times when she'll reply to a PvP thread saying:
"We believe the faction system will please all the PvP players. It is now time to put our care to the PvE players".

You should tell that to Blizzard. The reason Starcraft succeeded was because they actually listened. if "75%" of the playerbase are people that dont make critical analysis or try to stretch your game to the highest levels then you just have shit in a box.
I don't mean for this to sound negative, but either let it go and let the rest of us play, or suck it up and go play yourself. Frankly, there's a lot of fresh meat out there that would benefit from a knowledge source.
Either way, it has to beat the flame-festivities.
Hate to wax philosophical, but the past is past, how to act to it is how you'll define yourself.

Go have fun.
im getting paid $8/hr sitting here
Im at work....
Its not really wasting my time...
and the fact I haven't left go speaks a lot for the lost potential of GW.
I actually was prolly one of the most deadset fans of a.net and gw.

Well, there are some of us doing exactly that, drawing in new folks. I created a new char yesterday, Pre-searing is full of first timers still.
For the new folks, things have always been the way they are, and are therefore not a problem.
