free runners, a nice new trend
I've noticed, and used, several runners who will bring you somewhere free of charge while accepting donations. I give generously.
This kind of practice means no scams. If someone doesn't pay, they didn't have to. And there's no way that a runner can scam.
By donating generously to these kinds of runners we ensure that this trend continues.
By running on donation vs. fee, runners earn a good reputation (for the industry as a whole) and at times maybe won't earn much or anything but generally will do well.

i agree with this ... and second trend starting ... xgammon baneseye pays runners to race them to their destinations ;-) ... yes when you have money to blow you tend to do the oddest things with it. so I'll sit in augory and race em to a mission spot, or in ascalon and race em to beacons, bergen to ToA, ToA to fishermans, Fishermans to Sanctum ... all for fun. I love donating for a fun run to see if the runner has the best route or not and learn their strategy while offering mine! such a nice industry!

I've ran from almost any where to anywhere upto augury rock and its srrounding towns/mission areas, either solo, or half fight half run with henchmen team.
I don't see the super difficuilty associated with going to the next town with a team of henchmen. people are just lazy.

I'm seeing more and more people advertising to run people to Beacon's Perch.
Yes, that's right, TO beacon's perch.
I can't for the life of me figure that one out. Something you can do yourself with a couple of henchmen, people are charging for?
They must be the Jr Varsity runners, the ones that can't get to Droknars.

first time I was run somewhere was to ToA, second time to Droknar... First run was from someone who just wanted a donation, second was from guild leader so no charge. Its refreshing and nice to see midst the "Running to (insert city name) 4k!" spam "Running to (insert city) free, donations accepted." Unless your a really selfish immoral person who has no guilt at dying and letting someone else do all the work... Everyone pays something.

Last night in ascalon, i saw a person offering a run for 2k to sanctum cay.
It would have taken quite a while. 1.5 hours according to him.
I ran my brother from piken to aurora glade with my ranger and that was a fun and lengthy challenge.
I used to run people occasionally in the desert. I never asked for payments nor wanted any.
EDIT- A few days back, i offered to run a guy to elona from augury (he was obviously confused). I was using my bond monk (4 enchants) and he asked if i could put them on him too.
I told him it was "impossible" because of the degen (even with blessed sig. i still wouldn't be able to maintain it with just 4 DF).
Anyway, he insisted again when we zoned into diviners.
I told him i found his ignorance intolerable and i left him to get eaten by the sand drakes.
Free run for crying out loud!! Some people are just too dumb to be playing...seriously.

nope ... was looking at sanctum for a runner (coulda been there) ... then was looking for a runner on the ascention mission because I have done them 5 times on my other characters then again over and over with guildies ... now I am the only one who has one left and cant be bothered to slow my guilds progress so I would pay a runner for the mission ... after ascention I take on capping. I'm just sick of the desert ... and btw I did the sanctum mission at level 12 with henchmen. i was a solo runner from ToA at level 8. I dont want a run through the whole game. just 2 ascention missions.
EDIT **** sorry after re-reading my response I never actually answered you directly ... no I wasn't the individual paying for a run through the whole game. Usually I just run my other characters ... who I can actually play with guildies. My lower leveler <<< tarian ... was recently created as my guildies dropped many of the warriors and I had to fill the shoes so my necro went bye bye. I have gone linear through the game soooo much that I am spinning with aboiut 30 skills left to unlock. All I like doing now is farming ... and when that gets boring I pay/donate other runners and race them with a R/W

Whenever I see a low price being offered or a "donations accepted" run being offered, I always pay generously. In fact, it may be worth it to have a "donations accepted" running buisness because someone people will pay more than enough.

My first run, to Destiny's Gorge and Seeker's Passage from Augury. Before leaving I gave the guy an unidentified 15-20 purple sword then went to a take out place for some food. Came back and I was alone in Seeker's. I whispered him thanks and he was quite grateful for the sword, even though it didn't salvage out to much.
My second run was from Augury to Dunes and I paid him 500 gold for a 5 minute run. I don't even look twice when someone offers a 200 gold run, but I was paying partly for the run and partly for the kind offer of doing it for free Likewise with the sword.
