Personally I'm rather hoping for a skill fix instead of a quick enchantment removal bandaid. Otherwise said bandaid would, by necessity, have to be added to all other high level areas, lest they succomb to the same fate as UW.

well if A.net nerfs the build or adds a enchant stripper to the UW in the startign chamber then that will render all their "We ar not agianst farming when done legit".....and pretty much be the final straw for many folks. I farm with this build. I make some money. I sell all the junk back to the merchant other than ecto. My normal take from a hour long run is about 2k in gold and lots of white non-max weapons and sheilds. 99% of the colored drops are carppy blues that you can get killing charr. Hell a lot of the drops are colored but have not + values....they are just colored. No runes......no gold drops....maybe 1 dye in 3 hours.
My main thing when I'm down there farming is skill point gains. So i can buy and unlock skills. Really it is only for that.
Just because you cant do something.....you want to punish those that can. Well thats pretty selfish. These builds are not whats got the economy all screwed up. Botters and uber powerful guilds are the problem. They have turned from bot runs to commodites traders. Who do you think has all the gold? If they are selling 1,000,000 gold on ebay....and thats not moving....where do you think that money is going? They begin to speculate on items ingame. The monk build goes boradband....2 days later all the Sup monk runes go thru the roof. Do you think that players bought all those runes? or did a botter company buy up the supply at the trader and now sells them in trade spam? Have you ever talked to one of these traders in the trade channel or whisper? You can 90% of the time tell that they are cutting and pasting into a translator and reply in semi gobblyguck back to you. AND...once you buy or not...they keep comming back to you trying to sell.....over and over....and over.
Ever notice that even if an item is out of stock or priced thru the roof that there are always many of those items for trade in the spam channel?
If I get a decent rune, the 1st thing I do is offer it to guildies......if they dont need it, I check the trader. If the trader is giving a decent buyback....I seel it to the trader. If not....I hang on to it for later.
If they nerf the build or add enchant strippers....then they will prove without a doubt that they are Anti-Legit-Farming and we can all move on to another game.....because the botters/well funded large guilds will own this game and everyone else is just fluff.

i do agree but the bots wouldn't be there if people wouldn't buy gold for real money. i feel if i bought this game with my own money i want to play the game. instead people get on buy 200k for $10 buy everything they need and quit 2 weeks later because there is nothing to do.
i know a guy that bought 200k for $10 set its war up and is going through the game. he's got the best stuff and still got 150k left and he keeps asking me how can i use this. i tell him use it for what you already have everything.

I don't know but I found a Major Rune of Fire and sold it to the Rune Trader for 25K on Friday night. I think I had 5k total in 16 levels then all of a sudden one drop gives me more money than I could possibly ever imagine, yeah the economy is jacked up. Some rich guild probably bought out all the major fire runes and then started to try to sell to players using some fom build, but what do I care I just got rich being in the right place at the right time. The economy fluxes way too much, they need to slow it down and have a cap on percentage drops or raises. Suggestion to all new players hold your runes and dyes in storage, someone will try to take advantage of the market someday and buyout something you are holding, check prices everyday, you will get rich.

so again......how is that problem your stated have anything to do with a solo monk build? All I see is peeps screaming "Nerf the monks!.....Nerf'en!" like a scene out of Monty Python.....just waiting for someone to bring out a duck.
Bot companies have millions of $ spread over many accounts. What I am seeing in the market is that once they see a trend, they swoop in and buy up all the remining stock and then resell to players in trade spam. They dont sell back to traders because of the screwed up code the traders use. For example last week black dye was at 15K. I picked a black up helping a guildie and his 9 year old get thru a mission. I went to seel it back to the trader......which was selling at around 14.6K and the buyback was 1g.
The Botters know this also. So do high powered guilds. Last weekend Sup Vigs were out of stock for a week or so prior. Trade spam had them for 35K and up. ...all it takes is some one selling a Sup vig back to the trader and then have some one buy it right away and the price keeps going up.....until it is now where it is at. This sets the trade spam prices and the trader stay out of stock because they give crap for buy backs. The day the monk build came to light to the masses, monk Sup runes were still at a max of 2K. 3 days later they were at about 10K for the Protection rune. This is the normal player buying (to build the Build) then overnight....the price spikes to over 30K....this is someone (or group of someones) buying out the stock and slowly selling them back to set the market. Now the market is set and well......we are where we are.

And this is why I like to read GWGuru.
I was thinking the SAME exact thing as twicky was these past 2 days. I play more obscure classes, like the geomancer and illusion mesmer. Normally the superior runes for these are 120 each, 600 tops for earth magic, and maybe 300 for illusion. Now it's what? 7.4k! For friggin EARTH magic! How many geomancers do you see walking around? All I hear is "Nuker LFG!!" or "Air Ele LFG!!" but rarely ever did I see "Geomancer LFG!!" And hyromancers? I'd think they're non-existant if I didn't met one in tombs myself. But what is a superior water magic rune now? Last I checked was 5.2k.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to complain here. I'm just trying to make some sense of why the prices of such never before heavily used runes skyrocketed 5kx their old prices. When you see superior mesmer runes worth a few thousand GP consistently for 2 days... you really know something's gone awry.
But, just what the heck is it? Is it really the migration of more people onto American servers?

No...my thoughts are that the spectulators saw how well the monk sup runes worked so they are no speculating across the board. And now that prices are up....people are holding runes until the buyback comes up to respect the selling price.
There is no doubt.....the market is being manipulated.
