I just don't understand why you'd subject yourself to this 'horrible' game if you're done with it. I would simply redirect your own advice at you, I think if you're tired of looking at (playing) this game then please redirect your eyes and mouth somewhere else. That's just my opinion on what course you thould take... life's too short, experience things you enjoy.

Mormegil, catacomb-ish areas? I recall a rather extensive area in Pre-searing called the catacombs that are rather.. well.. catacombish. Complete with candles, zombies, and spiders!
Nizzim, please stop trolling. You've been repeating the same thing over and over for the last 20 posts. This is your first and last warning.. Now, let's please get back to the topic.

Oh come on, I expected those replies about my "catacombish", but catacombs in pre-searing don't feel like catacombs at all! They're huge, wide, with big stairs...an army could pass through those catacombs. Where's the disturbing, claustrophobic feeling?
I'm a fanboy of dungeons, but whenever you see corridors with enough space for 14 big men shoulder to shoulder, we're not really talking about a dungeon anymore. Even though SF doesn't look like a typical "open area", it doesn't look like a dungeon either. Judging by the limited scrshots we have, of course.

I am excited about the new updates, they are free and they are coming soon. I will buy the expansion! i dont think there is ANYTHING this or any game can offer me to convince me to pay them almost $200 a year to play them
as far as dungeons and catacomb go? i dont need them, the camera angels get all freaky when you are in there! (remember the catacombs pre-sear???)

I actually applaud Nizzim for not being a fanboy. Asshats like to tell people "go play something else" when some of us like some parts of the game and dislike others. That doesnt make your opinion gold, and it doesn't make criticism bad either. Because at the end of the day shit in a box is well...still shit. And a lot of posts in this topic are coming off like that.

At some point he must have enjoyed it, which caused him to care about it. This lead him to post about how it lacks or how it could be better. The devotion shown towards the game, even while dissatisfied, also shows an amount of a lack of options elsewhere and makes an attempt to make this option better. This is not present within this particular thread, but it is occurring elsewhere on the forum.

The actual topic is kind of silly, i mean how many books do you judge by the cover? In game videos merely show the graphics, they do not go into detail of the content or mechanics of the actual game. Since this is a game opposed to a movie, then i personally don't really care either way. Criticizing for other people expecting more of what already exists seems fairly counter intuitive in the sense that it is a game, and would likely follow the same mechanics found lacking. Alternatively, it could be argued that the criticism would stifle future development, but if every business quit at the first sign of a lack of satisfaction, then there wouldn't be many businesses open today.

hmmm.
However after reading the entire thread i have not read one single piece of constructive criticism on Nizzims part. i could say that it could do with a bit less linearity of storyline or more options in both PvP and PvE but nothing like this has come from Nizzim. As a Philosophy Student i can say that he should post the Premises of his argument (not just a conclusion) for me to take him seriously.

People still QQ over Boxer's SCV/Rine rush though and the 10 minutes In-Your-Face Nuke rush.

How many times should it be repeated in every thread? Im sure most of us could just copy and paste the highlights from every thread that brought up any good point, but then every topic would be overly bogged down. His presence here has become a touch excessive, but he does represent the underlying sentiment.

I always wonder why some people can't write clear posts, understandable by the average poster that, because of a cruel, bad luck, couldn't play the games they played, or couldn't play them to the extent they knew what the game's slang is like.
This is a forum after all, and there are so many other places to have pleasants tete à tete.
Alas, I was dragged into the lame Off-topic spiral, the temptation was too strong.

They are using abbrivated descriptions of tactics employed within the game. Im sure they could write several pages depicting how to perform and the purpose of each function within the tactics and approximatly what time each action should be taken in a linear fashion. Seriously though, can you honestly say you would have read through all of that, or just posted to please return to the original topic after reading the first few lines?

When I played the GW beta, I saw this big wall with a closed door, and I could not see a way to get past it. So I thought, maybe I will get a quest to blow up that wall, so I could move to the next part of the world.
I thought that from the moment I would have completed that quest, that part would stay blown up every time i went there.
This seems logical, because you play in an instance, and the makers could take advantage of that and adjust the world to your personal storyline.
I also heard that Arenanet would use some system to "combine" the stories of the different people in a party, and they would do that in a very smart way.
=======
Then I played WoW, which sucked because I simply dont like MMORPG's, also known as "lag, gank and item farm"-games to me.
=======
So i bought Guild Wars, but it turned out less good as I had expected.
I now finished all the mission with my character, and sadly I was just sent back to Droknar's Forge after the last mission, nothing more. And when I return to some area, everything is just like I achieved nothing...
And whats left now? I guess winning the Hall of Heroes?
Why didn't some guy after the last mission just give me a quest to do that?
Then I could go into UW of FOW, and do the repeatable quests there...
If I look at the name of the game, then competing in guild wars would be a good idea.
But why, nowhere in the story this is mentioned...

It is mentioned in several places, but it is nothing more than flavor text as it has no real bearing on how the game is played in the pve. The pre-searing to searing sequence in the arena is the closest thing to it as you were training at the time. The pvp is an attempt to resemble that flavor text within the game mechanics.

half ass can also mean missing game content
WoW shipped *without* Battlegrounds or the PvP Honor system
(both are in the WoW retail manual)
WoW patched them into the game 6 months later ...
if you are going to mention something in your game manual,
its sloppy to release the game without intended functionality
